    yes mitsu, that is how most people feel. And this is how mass public opinion can be manipulated.

    Phase1 - whip everyone up into a frenzy of fear against some threatening "other"

    Phase2 - under the justification of mass fear generated by phase1 you can do whatever you like to the "other" and people will write it off as a natural outcome of phase 1.

    Phase3 - calm everyone with images of supposed happiness and feel good stories.

    Phase 3 - don't publicise the aftermath. The average joe will not care enough, or have enough time to follow something up unless it is in their face every day. Hence the need for phase 1.
