First of all, thanks for the kind words. Leo is home, safe and sound.

Without getting too into it, I have a long background in medical publishing, so I've picked up a few things along the way. I also camp pretty hard, so I have a dog-specific med kit in case something goes awry while we're in the middle of nowhere. This combination leads to me being the worst airmchair doctor ever.

I went into auto mode, disinfected the bite area, stopped the bleeding, did a superglue stitch job, cleaned the blood off his fur, then got on the phone with the vet. Then I woke up. Rest of the story is already in there.

So here's the rest of the madness: He'd been at the vet for half the day, and they finally call back. "He's not letting us touch his feet, but given his age this is problably a shoulder problem, or maybe bone cancer."

In the most "look I'm not telling you how to do your job, but.." manner I told them to shave the inside of his front left leg they will find a laceration and puncture wounds. They did, and were all "oh yeah, we see it now, probably a tendon injury".

Adding to this is the madness of dealing with this during quarantine. We had to stand socially distanced on the sidewalk with 5 or 6 other groups that were waiting for their pets. There was a couple with a cute French Bulldog named Caesar. Caesar took a shit on the sidewalk, so we distanced a little bit further.

He's on antibiotics and painkillers, will have a comprehensive re-examination on Monday. As for Molly, the first thing Leo did when he got home was try to play-fight with her. It seems the biggest problem will be to try to keep him from over-exerting himself.

So there's a bunch of words and blurry photos. Thanks again, it's been a rough couple of days.
