They say they have evidence of two positive tests and TEN people willing to testify against him...Wow.
- then show the fucking evidence. put it on the news. do something.mg33
- MG, I'm sorry. They have a case and Armstrong knows what they have.waterhouse
- It was Lances decision to not face the evidence in a court of law, not the USADA's.UKV
- "retested samples" that means they slipped something in the second time.lambsy

^ that's certainly what they tell you.
you also don't just dope a "little". you have to train on the meds in order to get the benefit of it. so it's non-stop hip hop. Look, Lance is king of the pimps. He was better than the other dopers and an incredible cyclist. He just wasn't clean, except in a sort of Bill Clinton way.

I'll also ad that most people on the outside of the sport simply do not understand what it's like to do 600+ mile weeks with three to seven days a week of racing. When I say outside, I mean those who are not on the amateur world cup circuit or higher. Its brutal and punishing. When riders do dope, they typically don't do it for super stardom. They do it just survive. The sport at that level is just insane. Riders who use the juice are sick of injuries, loosing your hair, emotional breakdowns and not being able to eat or sleep because of the physical stress. I experienced all of that. Not a lot of folks on the outside actually know what that's like in a season that rolls for 11 months of the year. Most people understand that the guys who make that level are a very select and gifted group, but going from even elite amatuer to the pro's its just a total shock to the system. The speeds are unreal and pretty much everyone rides dirty just to make it work. The saying goes that "the rising tide lifts all boats", and its certainly true with cycling.
- Most people don't care as long as you don't cheat.waterhouse
- I mention this to simply paint the picture that drug abuse is multifaceted.UKV
- Cheating AND not cheating is not multifaceted. Drug cheating is!ChrisKeegan

the thing that bugs me about this is that you've got guys like Hincapie and Landis who were busted saying that Armstrong was on the same shit as them... well if they were caught why wasn't Armstrong?
The whole situation is sad and strikes me as a mid-level bureaucrat's attempt to make a name for himself.

He's too narcissistic to consider something drastic like suicide. I'd be very surprised if he ever admits cheating...unless he's given some type of amnesty. If he admits guilt, he'll go to jail for a good period of time.

^ haha. i predicted that earlier in this thread.

MrA, How do you know he wasn't clean? Where's your evidence? A bunch of old bitter riders (proven liars) that got caught cheating and are willing to take down another rider to make themselves feel better?
I get more satisfaction in giving someone the benefit of the doubt, rather than from tearing someone down based on some wishy washy claims and lack of hard evidence.

It's hardly something new to the sport.

I can't really seem to care about his blood doping. It's wasn't justifiable, but given the number of people he's helped through his foundation, the number of people he's inspired - that's what matters to me.
Imagine you're whole life has been about winning or succeeding at one thing and you follow the crowd and take a shortcut (that many of your peers are as well) that have arbitrarily been ruled unlawful by an organization. All of that has been pulled out from under him. His wins, his pride, his dignity. Everything he's accomplished has been invalidated. He doesn't need our sympathy, but he certainly doesn't need our judgement either.
There's so much corruption in this world on so many scales, I can't imagine the level of hypocrisy we'd bare witness to by opening up the lives of all those who criticize him.
- Ghey.waterhouse
- tell that to all the guys who were not doping and loosingmoldero
- there doesn't seem to be any that weren't doping though.lambsy
