    I can't really seem to care about his blood doping. It's wasn't justifiable, but given the number of people he's helped through his foundation, the number of people he's inspired - that's what matters to me.

    Imagine you're whole life has been about winning or succeeding at one thing and you follow the crowd and take a shortcut (that many of your peers are as well) that have arbitrarily been ruled unlawful by an organization. All of that has been pulled out from under him. His wins, his pride, his dignity. Everything he's accomplished has been invalidated. He doesn't need our sympathy, but he certainly doesn't need our judgement either.

    There's so much corruption in this world on so many scales, I can't imagine the level of hypocrisy we'd bare witness to by opening up the lives of all those who criticize him.
