(AP) -- After a decade of denial, Lance Armstrong has finally come clean: He used performance-enhancing drugs to win the Tour de France.
The disgraced cyclist made the confession to Oprah Winfrey during an interview taped Monday, a person familiar with the situation told The Associated Press. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the interview is to be broadcast Thursday on Winfrey's network.

meh, i don't give a shit. lance is still my hero.
his foundation has raised $500million+ for cancer support - which both of my parents used when they had cancer. dad had prostate cancer, mom had breast cancer twice. they are unique in the fact that they directly support the people diagnosed and not so much the giant pharma research labs - my mom's best friend was diagnosed with a super-rare spinal cord cancer, and it was LiveStrong that knew where the best doctor in the USA was - and they set up all communication and helped her figure out the insurance bullshit etc. and - they give you a number to call 24/7 and there is someone there to listen and support you when you're going through this shit.
so yeah, fuck USADA. i rode this weekend in the LiveStrong Challenge, my company fundraises for the foundation, and we're going to double our contribution for next year.

Of course he was juicing - you try playing a trumpet for hours on end.
Everybody needs to leave Louis Armstrong alone!!

Armstrong offered bribes to fellow cyclists in Philadelphia race and others.

Bollocks. It's practially been proven that everyone else doped in the Tour races which Lance allegedly doped in. In other words: he still won on a level playing field.
Get it over with and start a doping league. It'll end up being like car racing where technology is king. You either have the talent and the goods to win or you get out of the sandbox.
- Bollocks! It wasn't a level playing field. Lance Armstrong was the highest paid cyclist in the peloton and therefore had better doctors and techniques. Read Tyler's book - it most certainly wasn't a "level playing field."
ronburgundy - access to better doctors and techniques. Read Tyler Hamilton's book and you will quickly find it was in no way a level playing field.ronburgundy

- All the more reason to have it all out in the open. At least it can be about who's got the best "funding" and not "cheating".Gucci

nadanada,
That's exactly why I can't believe some people are wanting money back from donations made to LiveStrong. Though fully associated with Armstrong, the money went to the organization to do the things you described - not fill Armstrong's pockets with cash.
Nobody was duped out of the effect of the effect their donations had on the work the charity has done.

- What has the fbi got to do with winning or drugs ? Seems like extra work for them, really.

What it will take is for the professional cyclists to just ignore the usda. Ignore every instruction from every official at every race, every letter, every request for a test, don't answer the phone, just carry on as usual; they're just men and women that go to work in offices or in cars, and talk to people and type things or talk on the phone.
Ignore them.

I suppose the question now has to be asked, did he really have cancer at all?

Just change the 7 wins to 7* wins.
Problem solved and people can get back to their ever so important lives where they have enough spare time to criminalize a guy on a bike.
- If it wasn't so important, why count wins at all... Anyways last years news, #5, according to GQ: http://www.gq.com/en…Peter
- My point was in reference to the asterisk now in baseball recordsalbums

USADA must spend as much taxpayer money as possible in order to maximize it's budget for next year. So they put Lance on the cross and spend our money charging him. They are all baseless accusations from shady and untrustworthy individuals, and without evidence. You'd know if you followed cycling.
