Even with demographic differences among races, we still have a Black President, a Black Attorney General, Black and Hispanic Supreme Court Justices, Black and Hispanic Senators and Congressmen/women, Law Enforcement, Attorneys, Local Legislators, Teachers, etc, etc...

We have neighborhoods with high crime rates for any number of reasons that tend to be made up of racial minorities so you will see disproportionate policing relative to other racial demographic neighborhoods. Police shootings are in large part occuring in poor, high crime rate areas.

Law enforcement reacts to certain problems within communities. They're dispatched to those communities by superior officers who are pressured by legislators to cut down on crime.

No one can ignore the history of racial tension in this country, but to insinuating that black and hispanic people are being hunted by police based on the color of their skin is completly incorrect and making racial tensions far worse.

There is a problem of economic and political disenfranchisment within minoirty communities that needs to be addressed. Ecouraging the narrative that minories are being hunted is not helping in any way.

Here's an interesting video of a BLM leader taking a Law Enforcement course on the stressors of the job.

Philando Castile was stopped 52 Times by Police:
    Was It Racial Profiling?

When Philando Castile saw the flashing lights in his rearview mirror the night he got shot, it wasn't unusual. He had been pulled over at least 52 times in recent years in and around the Twin Cities and given citations for minor offenses including speeding, driving without a muffler and not wearing a seat belt.

All these racial and political arguments aside, can you imagine what would happen if things ever really got bad in America?

In most first world countries if there was a long-term crisis/ breakdown of society, you'd have maybe looting, riots etc. In America, every unstable individual who ran out of meds or EBT card (and there are a lot of them) will be out there with a gun recreating the plot of a shitty Uwe Boll action movie.

I'm not saying ban guns, I think it's futile at this point but people are kidding themselves if they think this makes them safer. In the long run, it's a powder keg waiting for a match to be lit.

    • Not all events happen as expected. The division is instigated. IF people want sanity, they will need to work on themselves and avoid #trigger reporting.yurimon
    • self sustaining in terms of less reliability from on the system itself. preparation.yurimon
    • this is the point of having guns, actuallymonospaced
    • It's kind of self perpetuating thing, if everyone else is armed to the teeth then maybe you also need a gun to defend yourself.yuekit
    • So on an individual level it makes sense. On a society wide level it's pretty clearly a net negative in terms of safety.yuekit
    • Its a community effort for prepping, there is a positive aspect if people embrace relationships. there is a stereo type of a loner person. no person alone canyurimon

    This is horrible,
cops shoot 2100 people in chicago,
I hope google, uber, pandora and pantsuit will get on the case!!

nah, joking it was other blacks,
yet not a single march from the terrorists from thug life matters,

    -

"Weekend gun violence in Chicago pushed the number of people shot in the city this year to around 2,100 — about 700 more than this time last year.

A total of 43 people were shot in the city over the weekend, four of them fatally. Nineteen of those were shot during an 11-hour stretch Friday night into Saturday morning, including two men wounded on a crowded sidewalk outside a taco restaurant in Wicker Park, according to police.

Late Saturday, a 21-year-old man was killed and a 15-year-old boy was wounded as they played basketball in Ogden Park in Englewood on the South Side, police said.

2 cops kill 2 black guys. first ive heard of this happening in quite a while. blacks kill blacks every minute in this country.

BLM then raises hell about the cops, not the blacks. lmfao are these people even serious at all? no wonder everyone hates them. buncha morons

    • no wonder everyone hates them? that kind of thinking exactly the issue!monospaced
  • nb3

To Georges & Cygnus and anyone else railing against BLM:

You might want to take a moment to consider that BLM started as a movement to address inequality in the justice system – NOT to address the number of cops killing black people. Specifically, it came from a growing concern that when cops (and others) kill black people, these killings are much less likely to be properly investigated, charged, or tried. There are almost no convictions. So, when you bring up "black-on-black" murder every time you talk about BLM, you're missing the point.

For example, when Eric Garner was killed by police, there was video of the entire event. Police accused him of selling loose cigarettes, he denied it. Regardless, his alleged "crime" did not warrant his death. One cop used an illegal chokehold, and Garner said "I can't breathe" eleven times. The police union said that a chokehold wasn't used, although everyone has seen the video. Anyway, the medical examiner ruled Eric Garner's death a homicide. This cop was given a secret trial which can not be scrutinized by the public and was transferred to a desk job.

Obviously there are lots of angry and confused people involved with BLM. BLM has indeed attracted all kinds of people, many of whom say inflammatory things or make claims that go against the original BLM position. However, no amount of crazy BLM people can diminish the fact that the police are not being held accountable for their actions, particularly when it comes to their actions against black suspects.

Currently, there are many black people who are afraid that, if they get pulled over or stopped by a cop, they might get killed. Statistically it is extremely unlikely that they would be killed by a cop, and therefore one can easily argue that these fears are unwarranted. Here I would agree: the fear that people have of police doesn't reflect reality. However, please try to consider how important it is for a free country that all citizens should not feel afraid of being killed by the police during a traffic stop or even when they are suspected of a crime.

Three people were killed in a shooting inside a Michigan courtroom Monday afternoon, authorities said.

Two of the dead were bailiffs and the third was the suspected shooter, Berrien County Undersheriff Chuck Heit told BuzzFeed News. A deputy was also wounded in the attack and was at a nearby hospital in local condition.

    The suspect was a defendant
