sputnik2 that link has me in stitches. I keep thinking the next link will be "Destroyed boomerangs are put in a pile on the last day of the Australian boomerang buy-back scheme."
- uberdesigner0
Americans have been shooting one another for hundreds of years. Why stop now?
- sigg0
Yes uberdesigner. Because when I think back to "Medieval Times" and castles and battles and armor and such I think "America" ya flap.

i can see where banning guns in America would help the problem, just like banning marijuana and drug use (just the ones not manufactured by chemical companies), it worked so well for prohibition... "Change the laws to manipulate the masses they will fall in line like lemmings" such an eloquently thought out plan, thank you for said suggestions ://
- lowimpakt0
what's your suggestion?

United States 2nd Amendment :
"A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."
not only can we bear arms - but we can form a militia and use it against our government when they get out of line (i'm still waiting for us to excercise this right)

^ Everyone laughs at the thought. But do you think the US military would actually open fire on it's own people? No way, they would probably join the revolution.

as a gun owner and previous poster on the subject I will repeat myself, laws<education.
in this, our capitalist society, i'll quote a cliche, the rich get richer and the poor get fucked. if american government would stop supporting companies that are only suffering due to the illegal white collar crime of corporate theft, families would be able to afford proper education, communities could rebuild from the ground up, when one group of people are suffering for the benefit of another there is a tension there that becomes resentment, when a group of people are left to feel helpless and abandoned, there is nothing for them to lose, the psychological stress can affect anyone to the point of breaking. supporting the people and the consumers that help make this government powerful would be the best choice. when there is a dollar for every big business that can give a kickback, and a bottomless pit of war mongering money, but not one cent for books, an up to code school, or education for less fortunate, it is no wonder that the snapping point is with that of violence. i'm sure you've heard the saying "hell hath no fury like a mother scorned" well "hell hath no fury like a forgotten population.

Look, there are hundreds of millions of guns in the US. Even if people had to stop selling guns tomorrow, and all gun dealers and manufacturers were put out of business, there's already too many fucking guns here.
The guns are a given. We're just going to have to stop worrying about the guns, and start wearing armor.
- +1, already have it... bought it on gunbroker.com for $450ipissexcellence

Lie in the bed you made.

social reform instead of social restriction
- version30
i don't feel like crunching the numbers but I'm assuming as there is a plethora of guns available in America the actual proportion of rational owners to those committing crimes is quite low.
- and also when factorin crimes committed by legal to illegal ownership and it would be even lowerversion3
- there are probably about 500,000 concealed carry holders in the state of Florida.ipissexcellence

We have shootings up here all the time(Canaduh) and our gun law's are quite strict, which are about to get even more strict.
Granted, most of our guns come from the States. :(
- yes and people who carry guns around in canada are criminals. all of them. Not the case in the USA.winnie_the_shit
- @winnie..dude where to you get off with these radical generalizations?designbot
- winnie_the_shit0
Guns are in the constitution. It's a non-issue. You all agree to it and live by it. You all vote for it. A free democratic nation isn't that right? It exists because you've enabled it.
Take responsibility for it.
Go get your body armor and live knowing that you are free to carry your weapons around.
Wise thinking.
