Man Says Wife Was Accidentally Shot During Sex
http://www.wlwt.com/news/1819646…yeah, guns are great and help you protect your property, everyone in america should have at least one, maybe just to thin out the herd.

I live in the US and have a gun license for 2 reasons. 1) is it's just fun to go to the range and shoot, and 2) I had a close friend years ago who was severely injured in a home invasion in a nice town and nothing to protect himself with. Someone can break into my home whenever they want, it happens all over the world everday, but I sleep very soundly knowing noone can threaten me and my family in my own home.
This whole gun debate is ridiculous because the license aspect of it is irrelevant. The fact that the US allows citizens to legally register for a firearm permit doesnt matter. If someone wants to get a gun in any country in the world, they can get one. But ignorant clowns like to pretend that the fact that the US allows SOME people to get one legally is a big issue, and its really not.
Im pretty sure a lot of murders with firearms happen in a lot of countries that dont allow citizens to get one legally. Ignorance is bliss I guess.

@utoopian, you do realize that even if the US didnt allow citizens to obtain a firearm permit, that the idiot that shot her could still very easily get his hands on a weapon?
Most people in the US with permits are very normal people. It's actually a legitimate hobby and a sport. In fact there are far more thugs in every city in the world carrying illegal firearms than there are crazy people with permits.
But keep blaming it on US policy. Fucking idiots.

Unfortunatley for you guys in the US, your shithouse laws over generations have meant that any changes to your gun laws now would probably have litle effect on firearm crimes.
Sure other countries have problems but I sure as shit don't want to walk down the street knowing that anyone can kill me on a whim at any time.

A lot of people look at those that have permits for protection purposes as being paranoid, which is fine. But I'd rather be paranoid and safe than end up another innocent victim on the evening news. It happens in every town. Of course the odds are low but it makes me feel good knowing that when Im at home, with my family that I love, that my life will never be in the hands of some desperate maniac. I dont care how people view that.
Ive had a friend injured in a home invasion years ago, and hear about it all the time. The fact that it can never happen to me or those I love the most is kind of a nice feeling.

"You can move to any country that prohibits legal firearms, and guess what still happens there."
if were talking about developed nations that arent war zones, I tell you exactly what happens there - less people get killed by guns per capita.
For example: Canada, the country most similar culturally and closest geographically to the US, which has much stricter gun permit laws, has 1/10th of the gun related homicides (per capita) that the US has.

The gun crimes in Austrailai is low, but it still happens. Get back to me if a friend of yours, or even a close loved one has something bad happen to them. God forbit even you. If someone decides to break into your home with a weapon, what are you going to do? Take the time to grab a knife in the kitchen? Good luck with that. Yes of course the odds of this happening are low, but it can still happen, and does everyday in Australia, in case you weren't aware of that.
What ignorant people dont realize is most of the gun crimes in the US are committed with illegal firearms. No different than what happens in any country in the world, regardless of their laws.
This argument wont be sold on you until someone you know has something bad happen to them, and then your opinion on it may change. Most people that have legal firearms in the US are very normal people. Most of the everyday gun crimes are with illegal weapons, which can be obtained in any town around the world.

"Yeah, a country with far less people in it. Good comparison"
It's per capita mate. Anyways, California (37mil) and Canada(35mil) have a similar population. in 2010 California 1,257 firearms murders, in 2009 Canada had 179.

You're trying to compare an area like south central LA with Australia. This has nothing do with firearm permits. Most of those people with weapons in Cali dont have permits. They are just lowlife thugs, which there is more of there than there is in Australia. This has nothing at all to do with firearm laws.

Does anyone actually think that any of the firearms manufactures in the United States really give two fucks who is, and who ain't a registered and legal owner of their beloved weapons?
All the firearms manufactures care about is profits and hiding behind The Second Amendment to sell, sell and sell as many guns and ammo!

ive been really thinking bout getting one of these. figure learn how to use it and get a concealed permit. dont really like seeing the crime being reported on. seems increasing, but tough to say if its just news being biased and pandering. would like not to feel the need for a gun, but rather have one and be competent with it than not have one.
and not sure about strict gun controls but i get the impression the UK have them. And media seems to paint a rise in gangs with knives. and than i think about this track ...
