I know... but sometimes I don't know... I have contraditory perceptions too. Maybe we should evolve in perception. That would be teh giant step.

the most impressive fact is how much he loves Hennessy.
"A habitual imbiber, he reportedly spends more than $650,000 a year on Hennessy VSOP cognac (the average annual North Korean wage is $900)"

cactus, how has bush confronted NK head-on? If you ask me, he sidestepped real threats to knock out Saddam.

Japan doesn't take to nuclear weapons well (and rightfully so), so this will actually bring about the question of whether or not Japan will follow with nuclear weapons. The newly-elected leader is interested in focusing on his military, and their economic status is getting lower because of this weapons testing.
It's going to cause a ripple effect.

there's this old norse prediction... one day the world will all fight each other and destroy itself... the survivors will build a new world to fulfill the old norse prediction.
grab yer beers.

if it wasnt for Bush, they would have never felt the need to go nuclear.

Pakistan went nuke on Clinton.
The thing is, everybody wants to go nuke. It's really cool. It's fissure at -350 kelvin, and then letting the air in.

(Oct 9 06, 13:24)This contradicts the media storm of criticism that Bush's intransigeance and threats have caused North Korea to pursue nuclear weapons.
I heard from his political opponents and "experts" rolled out by all the anglophone media.
Sounds like confrontation to me.

The big lie is that under Bush the North Korean nomenklatura has been pushed into a corner by the evil Bushite neocons.
The truth is that N. Korea's nuclear ambitions predate Bush and began in earnest during Clinton's presidency.

The Big Lie is blaming everything on Clinton. You know it's all Regeans fault for pulling the marines out of Beruit and he emboldened the world's terrorists by showing how weak we were. And then he rolle dove rand played patty-cake with gorbachev and secretly sold the Iranians arms.
Regean buddy. Regean started it all. Deal.
- PonyBoy0
regean's arms-push forced the end of the cold war by bankrupting the russian gov. from all the defense spending they were doing... so Regean's actions were 'good' if you look at it from that aspect...
... blueONe... I'll agree w/you that Regean's 'partially' to blame - but you must also include Russia AND CHINA... China has been their 'pal' for some time while still trying to be pals to the U.S. (economically) and Russia etc...
... so this situation is a worldwide clusterfuck that is the result of the post WWII era- 'cold war'- that cannot be attributed to only Regean.

things would be different if Clinton would not have been framed. that's my humble op. everything would have been different.

Regean did show weakness in the Lebonon but will not be held accountable for that footnote. He was correct on the bigger issue of directly confronting the USSR and seemingly causing it's demise.
If you want to really pinpoint US weakness in the face of Islamist terror you must go back to Jimmy Carter's disasterous capitulation in Iran. There you will find the emboldening moment for the movement we see today.

look. I think the US are the most important country in geopolitics. And as such, the US needs the most balanced posture in foreign policy, output, etc. Not star wars. That's why I think democratic US is more important to this world than Republican govs. Because there's different ethics even when they are safe-guarding their own country.
in short: yes, that's teh pic :)
- mrdobolina0
wouldnt bush pulling out of saudi arabia, being that is where mecca and medina are and the exact beef al qaeda had, constitute "emboldening terrorists"?
Thing is there is a ton of blame to go around. But blaming past presidents is futile.
Economic interests worldwide dictate these policies, it used to be tea and spices, now it is oil and natural gas. The fact that we have the president that is most closely aligned with these interests out of all of them is what has brought it to such a fever pitch today.
