what happened to bush's "you are either with us, or you are against us" with respect to china?
stupid man - stupid talk

No koNa I'm making the observation that we knew that NK was much farther along the path of developing a workable nuclear device than Iran and certainly than Saddam was...and the US gave two craps about it priority-wise.

Well, I guess this thread will be more interesting when Dobs, and Garrett show up...
:)

Saddam (Iraq) wasn't trying to make nukes from scratch with reactors, they were trying to buy the uranium needed to make them from Africa, and import aluminum tubes and high strength magnets to enrich it.
Besides, I think everyone was more concerned with the Chemical and Biological weapons they had, not the nukes that would give off an unmistakeable signal that can easily be tracked by satelite.

(Oct 9 06, 07:11)Your first paragraph... yeah that never happened.
But that is neither here nor there.
Fact is, wouldn't it be awesome if our country wasn't mired in chaos in Iraq right now?

It's no mistake or oversight that the US Gov has let NK get this far with their nukes.
We all saw Lord of War.
Who really knows if it isn't more profitable to let some have and others have not?
Saddam was Bush's agenda. NK is someone else's who is no doubt running a smoother operation.
While the world watches Iraq, in 'terror', arms dealers sans scruples make a killing everywhere else. (Pun intended.)

(Oct 9 06, 07:17)By "his boys" you mean Russian and France right?
History:The Iran-Iraq War (1980–1988) (in which the United States, Soviet Union, and France backed Saddam after 1982)
The war began when Iraq invaded Iran on 22 September 1980 following a long history of border disputes, demands for the overthrow of Saddam Hussein's regime, and secret encouragement by the US administration (President Jimmy Carter, conveyed through Saudi Arabia) which was embroiled in a dispute with the new Islamic Republic of Iran. And Carter was a what? (D)

Typical that a conversation about NK turned to Bush and America in less than 5 responses. The spoiled liberals here think everything is about the America. Sad really.

It doesn't matter who sold who what. NK just goes to further expose the US as a lying, corrupt government. If they were actually worried about the "axis of evil" they'd be there now kicking ass right?
- mrdobolina0
jump off a building.
- TheBlueOne0
KoNa - still doesn't change the fact that Saddam only had WMD's thanks to the US/West..I'm not making a republican or democratic talking point here...just history..
other than that Saddam was out in the desert building giant useless cannons, i.e.

I think that tells us alot about his abilities as a military thinker...

Oh sorry moth, I just thought I had somehow become the next contestant on the "Blame game" gameshow. I thought it was my turn to go. I took "History for $300".

(Oct 9 06, 07:54)Well that's another topic entirely and one they should've thought of long ago.
