Let's see what the rest of the world says about that. Time for them to step up for a change.

- pavlovs_dog0
let me be the first to call bullshit (maybe).
the nprk said it performed at test, but i've herad no outside intelligence reports confirming it.
these things show up on the richter scale, no?

so, how was this whole let's provke some wanna-be nuclear states beacause we were attcacked by a group of rouge islamists thing supposed to work again?
whatever it was, it aint workin.

If they're clever, they'd never make such news public. I think it is a ploy to extend Kim's overrated penis. Even if they had a nuke they'd stand no chance against NATO unless China joined in the fun but they're only pals with N.Korea for the money.
Who's next? Pakistan?

it's bad business for all nations involved...
nprk stands alone this time.

" Geologists record 4.2 magnitude quake in area "

Now we're (the world) is f.u.b.a.r.
At least with Iran the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) recognizes the "inalienable right" of all signatories to "the fullest possible exchange of equipment, materials and scientific and technological information" related to the "use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes."
That means that Iran has the "inalienable right" to acquire nuclear reactors or uranium-enrichment centrifuges from Russia. That also means that Iran is required to subject to IAEA Safeguards all uranium, plutonium and thorium – in whatever form and however obtained – as well as all activities wherein safeguarded materials are transformed, produced or processed.
On the other hand, the DPRK has no such requirement.
Under Article II, each no-nuke signatory agrees "not to manufacture or otherwise acquire nuclear weapons."
Iran, in agreeing to an Additional Protocol to their Safeguards Agreement, has essentially given the IAEA the authority to police that agreement.
But the DPRK is no longer subject to the NPT and can now develop, test, manufacture and sell nukes.
Sell nukes being the key phrase above.
Again. We're fucked.

(Oct 8 06, 19:53)What the bollocks does that mean?
America have "dealt" with the "threat" of Iraq so now that a country that actually does have WMD's but no oil or resources worth pinching it's the rest of the worlds turn?
America wants to be world police, let them get on with it.

It's not so much that they have a workable nuke, it's that it turns over the happy apple cart of East Asian politics...Japan WILL remilitarize and build a bomb, which will get the Chinese all uppity, and the S. Koreans will be on edge..who the fuck knows how Taiwan will fit into thi...and we're sunk into the Chinese for billions...arrrgghh
Looks like the WMDs where exactly all us sane people were telling the Bushites where they were in the first place. "Told you so" just isn't very satisfying..can the adults take over now please?
