So I did a long-term freelance gig with a design agency. The agency sent me out a couple times to a client who they subsequently lost, causing me to lose my job with them.
Toward the end of the agency's contract with the client, I asked the head of the agency if I could reach out to my contact at the client (a person who agency owner had no relationship with) and he was very offended I'd asked. I told him sorry and that I wouldn't ask.
Fast-forward to today, my contact found me on linkedin and asked if I wanted to do some work.
Am I making more of an ethical issue out of this than I should? Do I just write back and say I'm up for it? It's likely it would get back to the agency owner if I did. I just don't like to burn bridges ya know?

My housemate owes me almost £500 for bills. I've asked her for it but she says she's currently trying to set up a cake baking business so I'll have to wait. I spoke with our landlord and he's asked her to move out at the end of the month because she's 3 months behind on her rent too. Since then, she's lied to me about so many things, blamed me for twisting the landlord against her, avoided me, accused me of being a bully, accused me of not even paying the bills and ripping her off, and now she's gone to the police saying I've been sending her abusive texts and they want to see me tonight. Fuck, some people really do see the world through the darkest of thoughts. I've literally carried her for 3 months and now being nice/too busy to deal with her has got me into this.

adobe should make a shared environment where multiple people can access all the features of photoshop (and their other products) to collaborate on an image simultaneously. I can't help but imagine that would be a boom for creative and retouching work.
as a simple example; imagine multiple clone stampers cleaning up dust spots from macrophotography.
as a complex example, multiple smart objects being edited and type being placed during color correction and airbrushing.

An update from yesterday.
Went to the police, they had a print out of all the texts we'd sent as a household regarding all of the issues that led up to her feeling the need to phone the police. Apparently she's baking cakes for a festival which takes place this weekend, so she's incredibly stressed. The police however said they don't deal in issues regarding the payment of household bills and they're going to speak with her today. They could tell from my texts that I was more concerned about her ability to pay, than actually being abusive, but advised I don't text anymore - even though the only time I did text was in response to her. I'm still not sure whether I'll get any money or whether our landlord will evict her at the end of the month so looking for elsewhere to live.Fooler, would you like her number?!
