- How much for these classes? I could not find the price per class. These classes look fascinating, there is even a class with Frank Gehry.utopian
- that $90 what's listed on the masterclass page isn't the per class price? or it's a subscription for all available classes?sted
- the site is not clear at all.utopian
- I paid for Deadmau5 masterclass, and it was quite good! I am not sure how it goes for the other teachers, but his music production class was fantastic.Fabricio
- There's some pretty stellar talent they've got there. I've been eyeing the film making stuff for a bit.formed

Been really wanting to upgrade our kitchen cabinets for a long time. Out of the blue my wife stumbles across milk paint. I guess it's typically used for furniture but some people have had good results doing their cabinets. So this weekend, I got motivated and started the project. No more cheap, honey oak finish, say hello to..........Seagull Gray. This shit is amazing though, covers so well.
- looks great!bklyndroobeki
- We're putting an offer in on a house that has wood trim throughout that is that color. Will have it all painted white and love some examples I've seen.mg33
- Thanks bklyn. The bottom pic is only one coat of paint. We did three and the coverage is flawless, with no brush marks.stoplying
- are you going to add any custom hardware? that's another touch that really makes things look uniquemonospaced
- ^ Yeah definitely. Not sure it will be custom, but it will be different and better than what's on there now.stoplying
- different = custom :)monospaced
- yeah, that came through, stoplying. i wish wish wish i owned a home so that i could geek out about stuff like a kitchen cabinet doorbklyndroobeki

- more progress photos!Melanie
- ^ yes, more pics, we're going to paint our kitchen this spring too...OBBTKN
- will milk paint work well in a paint sprayer? i recently got the Wagner Flexio 590 to do some refinishing work.slinky
- slinky, not sure. some sprayers can handle it. if you dig around on youtube, there are tons of vids.stoplying

I will be sharing a VR Demo with you all...soon.

Milk Paint Update Part 2:
We're hoping to go with a two-tone kitchen. Darker gray cabinet color on the bottom, a new quartz countertop that ties into the floor color, and the lighter colored top cabinets. Plus a grayish (not sure of style yet) tile backsplash, and a new sink. Here is the bottom cabs I painted last night, just one coat with a 50/50 denatured alcohol and water rub down, followed by some very light sanding with 240 grit sandpaper - just to give it some texture.
Again, one coat on the top cabs with some wood putty to smooth over some seams. Still needs sanding and two more coats.
Yellow wall color will be changed after cabs are done, and countertop is installed.
And this shows the original honey oak cabinets with just one coat.
- Thanks for sharing, I thought you were going to paint all the cabinets in "white", but not a bad idea to make it 2 tones...OBBTKN
- amazing lamp for a kitchen. <3.uan
- ^ I hate that lamp. It's yours if you want it :)stoplying
- kitchens in yellow...love them!oey
- Me personally I would never paint over wood cabinets showing grain, since the top cabs are already painted over I would have just painted thosemoldero
- to go with the exposed wood cabs on the bottommoldero
- nice job. some canned lights over the sink and counters would look nice too. ;) a house is a never ending project.sea_sea
- @moldero - I hear you. This project was planned for 2 years until we found the milk paint. The top cabinets were originally the honey oak, not painted, stoplying
- excuse me for being lazy and not googling, but can you tell us what "milk paint" is exactly?monospaced
- assuming its an off white like eggshell white maybe?moldero
- @mono - it's typically for furniture refinishing and true milk paint comes in a powder form that you mix yourself. This brand is water based acrylic though.stoplying
- @moldy Seagull Gray is the name on the can. It's not as white as it appears in these pics.stoplying

When is the last time you have upgraded your hardware, meaning your personal skill set.- I attend 1 or 2 events (HOW last year in Chicago) per year and try to learn 1 new program a year. Or, relearn an old skill such as painting or bowstaff.kona

High-five-to-self! My wife and I finally found a house in the suburbs and signed a contract today. We were buying one back in September after selling our condo, but backed out of it because of inspection issues. We moved into a rental condo we own expecting to be there for a month, but the market dried up and we've been there all this time, in a little one bedroom with our daughter sleeping in a play-pen at the foot of our bed.
Hoping to close in a month and move on with our lives. House is in great shape and we are planning on a significant basement project to remove two crawlspaces and expand the basement to the full footprint of the house to add a fourth bedroom, bathroom, a music room for me and all my guitar and music gear, a storage room, and maybe a playroom for our kids. It's good timing... we've got our second child on the way in June so we're really anxious to get moved. Exciting day!

- Mono - cabinets are in great shape. We're only going to paint the wood trim and some built in shelves.mg33
- Great story, a new house is worth to be patient, and sleep on nonsense things... This is how you start a new chapter properly :)sted
- Congrats! Photos of the development as well please!mugwart
- Will do with the progress photos. We're really excited... the place is very "us." We don't feel like we're settling, and we can make it even better.mg33
- couldn't be happier for you dude!
can't wait to see the photos as well :)exador1 - I have to hand it to my wife, she's been 100% on board with me having a room to record and play music in throughout our search.mg33
- I'm pumped that I'll be able to build that out, add soundproofed walls, have a fun space to record and play music with friends.mg33
- She's even conceded that my record collection would probably look really good stored in the main floor instead of hidden away in a basement. LOLmg33

I love my job. I really do.
But my mobile developers... *tears what's left of hair out by the root*
A solid month of back and forth of them wanting to change how they'd like documentation and assets delivered. Today, they suggested we use a new plugin for Sketch which would mean countless hours of rework so sketch could spit out code for them to use... on pages they should have completed months ago. The majority of our files were just updated in PS with their new artboard and asset delivery features. WTF
- Mobile developers? Wow i wish i had a mobile dev. I do the whole shitfadein11
- sounds like your devs don't plan for changes and scaleability.BabySnakes
- telling me "it would be helpful if the specs were written for iOS" lol. As if the hex, pts, and fonts are somehow only for web.kona
- You should still implement Zeplin for next time, it is a huge time saver...whatthefunk
- I proposed that and they rejected it. "Too many programs already and we don't need one more to check"
Baffling.kona

Just saw some pics about spelunking and felt immediately dizzy...
At some moment I tried to be rational about it like thinking it can be some good therapy or a survival skills upgrade...thinking that it can be useful for something but the more pics I saw the dizzier I got...- Nope, your survival instinct appears to be 100% fully-functioning. I love to see the pics, but I've absolutely zero desire to ever try such a thing myself.detritus

- 'dank' can be applied to food and drink etc. It doesn't refer to the stink but instead the quality of the weed... usually means something is really 'good shit'.PonyBoy

I read somewhere today that friends don't give friends unsolicited advice.
Do you agree with this??
- Nah.nb
- Willingness or ease of giving (or receiving) unsolicited advice is actually a good litmus test for how close of friends you are with that person.nb
- ^ not my finest sentence.nb
- so it's probably wise to be good friends with that person and not just an acquaintance.HijoDMaite
- i think it's BS even if a stranger gave me unsolicited advice I would take it. may not follow it but would listen.HijoDMaite
- with good friends i don't think it matters. i expect my friends to call me on my shit, for example. or lend a better perspective on a given situationscarabin
- Friends are the ones you trust to give the unsolicited advice. From an outsider it's just weird.monospaced
- Perhaps this refers to those who don't really listen, just offer advice or "you should..." all the time.MrT
