Was surfing the net last night for research and clicked on seemingly normal websites..the next thing I know AntiVirus 2009 (for windows) pops up and says that my comp has spyware and viruses. I have a Mac.

I was on my gmail at the time, and immediately logged off when I saw this.

I logged on my other computer (Windows) and checked out the setting of my gmail and the POP (Post Office Protocol - hich lets you download messages from Gmail's servers onto your computer so you can access your mail with programs like Microsoft Outlook Express or Netscape Mail, even when you aren't connected to the Internet) and saw that POP had been enabled, which I definitely disabled. It was enabled to enable POP for all my mail :/

What can I do?? I'm worried that my personal info is being tracked. Did a scan for viruses, but nothing so far. Any of you have similar cases? Or spyware issues??

I was thinking about Stranger Than Fiction today and how it is a postmodern movie, and I started wondering if adverts have ever been approached in this way? Can anyone think of any? And is advertising in general heading in a post-modern direction? Is the more handcrafted/illustrated route in vogue? Is backwards forwards? Any ideas?

Anybody know of some well done linocut logos? I tend to keep seeing really dated ones and would be awesome to see ones that are more modern. I'm planning to execute the logo I'm working on in a linocut, as it really fits the hands-on nature of the company.

I've tried using the filter to find the many threads about designing your CV, but for some reason I can't seem to find them :/ I even started going backwards manually through all the public voice threads, but it just seems to go only a few weeks back?

Can anyone suggest illustrators who make use of leftovers/rubbish such as plastic, plastic bags, newspaper, scrap card, scrap paper, bottle caps,scrap pieces of fabric in their illustrations? (it doesn't have to include all of the above materials, but I need to get a sense of how they incorporate 1 or 2 of the materials together).Would be very helpful for a project I'm busy on.

Hey guys..busy coming up with a slogan or positioning statement for environmentally- and community based pre-school, called Little Oaks. The curriculum looks at the child in a very holistic way, looking at the nutritional, spiritual, mental and physical aspects. The local natural environment and community/neighbourhood forms the basis of teaching/implementing these things.

So basically in my mind it links the child with other children, including disadvantaged kids, the community and natural environment. The slogan needs to be down-to-earth (no pun intended), honest, considerate, to the point, inspiring/aspirational. (the school hopes to bring about great change in the community).

This is what I have so far:
- together we grow
- small people. big change.
- let's learn together
- let's grow together
- growing together
- growing up together
- growing one another

Let me know what you think..do any of them work? Which one/ ones? Any ideas or suggestions? I've got a creative block at the moment :(

Reusable logo? Apr 8, 08, 9:12 a.m.

Any ideas on how to make a logo reusable? im doing a visual id for an eco school, which promotes environmental and community sustainability. The only thing I can think of is making the logo form out of certain materials - eg.school materials such as pens or pencils or even using stuff that people would see as junk eg. bottle caps and then photographing that..actual furniture and pieces inside building are going to be repurposed pieces or made up from stuff people consider junk. Proposed name for school is Little Okes. What are your thoughts on the name? Another thought I had was that maybe furniture which spells out the schools name could be the logo and it is actually used in the school? Or logo form made up out of acorns ha ha and then photographed and used? lol
