Anyone else feeling this way about Apple and their products? I switched to a mac earlier this year and I am starting to get all of the "logic board" issues and harddrive problems and a pretty crappy attitude form the "geniuses" at the genius bar.

We have all come to accept that our iPods may be DOA or they will freeze up for no reason or the battery will die within a year or so... Should we just come to expect the same from our Apple computers?

The only thing that ever killed any PC I've ever owned is a virus that was such a pain to remove that it made the computer worthless. I can't help but think that if someone wanted to start writing viruses for Macs, Apple would fold.

Anyone sharing this sentiment?

why do I hate freelance? Aug 11, 03, 3:08 p.m.

Let me count the ways... I worked freelance for a year and it was a nightmare. So many worthless clients that were never satisfied, wanted to pay me peanuts or just threw away my invoices and told me to fuck off.

I took on a freelance gig for a friend of a friend and was reminded of how much I appreciate a 9-5 job. After 2 weeks of comps that got narrowed down and refined and narrowed and refined... I was told today that she doesn't like any of this stuff (even though she has liked it all the way through the process) and that she is no going to pay.

So, there goes 20 hours of my time for nothing... FUCK THAT!

Anyone know what I need to cross the border form the US to Canada? I know yo used to be able to get into Canada with just an ID but I figured it might be a little tighter security these days.

Yep - This morning I spilled water on my MacBook... it shut itself down before I could. Currently it will start up but makes 3 beeping sounds and never goes past the initial grey screen.

Any words of wisdom or inspiration?

Flash Buttons Apr 29, 04, 10:33 a.m.

Hey guys,
This seems like I am missing something but, thus far, all of my buttons have been scripted with an Over, Out and HIT state. All using MCs and action script to do this.

The problem is that if I mouse in and out quickly the button jumps the animation so that it tends to look no-so-smooth.

Is there a smarter way to do this? Something that just plays one animation backwards and forward on mouse over/out?

Logo for a pop-rock band. The band sounds "kinda 80's" and "new-wave-y". Wanted something clean.

One problem I can't solve is how to blance or slim down the "g". I like the character I created but I am concerned that it makes the type off-balance.

Simple mySQL Question (I hope) May 11, 04, 12:18 p.m.

I am just now trying to figure out php/mySQL so I can start making database driven sites. I found some good tutorials but I am stalled at creating mySQL files. I have a host that uses plesk and it is simple to create a mySQL file but editting it is a mystery. What am I missing?

I would love to find a way to have a single text box with a "subscibe" and "unsubscribe" button and have it return some sort of message indicated success or failure.
