I am gonna be honest, Matt Freese has always been a problem... Quite possibly the weakest US Goalkeeper selection in the last 30 years. That being said, I did not expect him to be 30 yards out of the fuggin box driving his toes into the turf attempting to clear a ball bad. Jesus christ that was embarrassing. In 2014, Tim Howard had 16 saves against Belgium and we still lost but at least there was something heroic in that defeat. The 2002 US team still stands as the greatest World Cup team we fielded and if not for Torsten Fring we'd be in quarterfinals. Anyone saying this current team is better than the 2002 team is lying to themselves. We have a looooong way to go, Mauricio Pochettino and Team USA better start looking for a Tim Howard/Brad Friedel type GK for 2030 now. Thanks for the vent.
