"now i’m not saying it’s going to be funny when a cybertruck massacres everyone inside of it because the autopilot hit a concrete barrier going 40 mph, but when the car made out of thick sheet metal with no crumple zones transfers the entire force and energy of the impact into the now liquidated bodies of its driver like a mortal kombat x-ray move, i might laugh"

"the crazy part is it’s so much worse than old cars. old cars were made of 1-2mm thick mild steel usually. the cybertruck is made of 3mm thick STAINLESS steel. in like the 1930s some car manufacturers used to try to make stainless steel cars to stop rusting, but stopped because it was just killing people on impact. the cybertruck is the only stainless steel car in literally decades, and the only one with steel this thick.elon knows his moron customers are the kind of people who think their car needs to be literally bulletproof because they’re too scared to drive through a city and think they’ll get shot, so that’s what they made. a car that kills you and everyone around you to entertain suburban fascist fantasies. its the most american car ever made"

Tesla loses legal action in Sweden as dispute with Nordic unions escalates
Court decides postal service does not have to deliver licence plates, for now, in latest twist in row over collective bargainingTesla has lost a legal action against Sweden’s postal service as a dispute with Nordic trade unions escalates.
A Swedish court said on Thursday that PostNord did not, for the time being, need to deliver licence plates to the electric carmaker that were being blocked by the postal service’s workers, in the latest twist in a battle over collective bargaining agreements.

Didn't the recent public unveil show crash-tested Cybertrucks with crumpled fronts? Doesn't even America have stringent safety tests that would ban non-compliant motors from manufacture? Isn't the steel actually less than 1.8mm thick?I know we all love to shit on the melon, but let's try and stick to facts, eh?
What I do find interesting is the complete lack of Tesla branding, which I'm guessing the management have kind of insisted upon.
Also, the more I see of this thing, the more embarrassed I am that I originally thought it looked quite cool and game-changing. Its looks like complete shite to me now, but what the hey.
- It's a dystopian idea.
Syd Mead designed better cars in the 70's and had a much better vision for the world those cars inhabited.PhanLo - The idea that you would drive a bulletbroof car in public streets that is almost twice the height of a sensible sized vehicle shows where Melon's head is at.PhanLo

A Swedish union says it'll stop collecting trash from Tesla's workshops to show solidarity for striking workers
Tesla is now facing the unpleasant prospect of overflowing trash cans after Sweden's Transport Workers Union said it would stop collecting trash from the company's workshops in solidarity with striking workers, according to a report from Reuters.

If you haven’t seen the truck in person, don’t rush to judgement. It looks silly in pics and video but up close it looks fucking dope.
It is by far the most interesting product design of the year. Kudos to Tesla. Now if they could just work on designing an interior with physical controls and stop making dumb handles and get better at quality control, they’re going to sail past the competition

CYBERTRUCK MANUFACTURING IS A DISASTER, TESLA INSIDERS SAY
AND IT'S NOT THE BODY PANELS...Production Hell
It's looking increasingly likely that Tesla is facing serious trouble with the production of its recently announced Cybertruck — and we're not talking about the pickup's highly unusual bulletproof stainless steel exoskeleton or massive glass panels. As Tesla insiders told Reuters, the EV maker's main bottleneck when it comes to building the Cybertruck is actually producing the vehicle's next-generation 4680 lithium-ion battery cells, roughly 1,360 of which are needed for each Cybertruck.
Tesla is trying out an entirely new approach to producing the cells that relies on dry-coating electrodes, a process that's technically faster and cheaper — at least on paper.
But there's one big problem: Tesla apparently has yet to figure out how to scale up the process enough to power entire cars with them.

Tried a new ridesharing app that only uses Teslas. The driver was fucking unhinged. I guess what you’d call a “bro”, but also he was a crazy person. I felt a little unsafe like he might snap or something. but his driving wasn’t too bad. Not good, but nothing super dangerous and it was nighttime nyc traffic so we weren’t going fast. I kinda wanted to get out of the car though. Didn’t feel safe around this guy.
It’s just one experience but now I’m a little bit thinking like “are Tesla drivers insane?”

- I've been subscribed to FC for years now. Not a car person, I just like the tech. I think that Kryten's a little un-self-aware when he updates his car so often.Nairn

Tesla Model 3 refresh (project "Highland") is just around the corner. It will look more like the new Roadster in the front and back. And will be cheaper too while stuff like battery tech improved. Looks promising from what I've seen in the leaks and rumors.
