New Details About the Troubled Production
- The one thing this movie has going for it..... expectations are LOW.DRIFTMONKEY
- Akagiyama2
- that game of thrones actress is so bad.inteliboy
- mmmmm.... sure???sofakingback
- What Happened to Jack Black?utopian
- I bet a CG version of young Harrison Ford would've been better than this guy.M01XXX
- what a strange trailer.fadein11
- Odd choice of music but i'm still looking forward to seeing this.face_melter
- looks good :-)mekk
- woody doesn't age._niko
- @inteliboy God she is so terrible. Also every dragon-riding scene is SyFy quality and looks shit. She's lucky she's fine.garbage
- How did I not notice Emilia Clark was Daenerys? A double duh derp on me.CyBrainX

Damn.. Solo was a luke warm mess.. had low expectations and was sadly even let down. Here’s an idea Disney, instead of trying to pump out shit each year, spend a minute actually writing and making decent movies. Rogue one had it’s flaws, but was watchable.. i was noticeably bored in solo.. My wife almost fell asleep. Glover was the only redeeming aspect, and even that was over cooked.
Not sure what they could have done, except make it better. Like way better. And sorry Khaleesi, you are forever going to be mother of dragons, not some Star Wars quasi villain. And L3.. jeez talk about trying to milk K-2SO.. so much fail. What did the focus groups score highly on sassy robots? Is that a thing now? Urgh. You can see why they had so many problems.. even Ron Howard couldn’t rub the stink off it- No spoiler except to say it is assautoflavour
- may be the 1st SW film I don't bother seeing on the big screen. I had a bad feeling about this.fadein11
- You saved me $10. Thanks!noneck
- Never have I felt more compelled to refund my tickets for tonight. tydorkKn1ght
- SW should have learned the lesson from Star Trek about over-saturation of the same thing grinding a franchise into the ground.Continuity
- http://www.qbn.com/r…PonyBoy
- The franchise went to shit the minute Lucas fucked w/it in the late 90's...nothing but bad acting, rehashed (now cliche) action and shitty one-liners...zzzPonyBoy
- damn. oh well. sad as SW franchise could be milked to make amazing films. maybe if they stop aiming at 12 year old kids?inteliboy
- look its not all bad, just mostly bad. there are a few parts which are ok, but it just felt super rushed and poorly executed. that said that is just my opinionautoflavour
- its like they made a major motion picture by a paint by numbers instruction sheet and wrote the script based on focus groups feedbackautoflavour
- Solo had luke's warm messset
- I'm more interested in knowing what your kid thinks of it.docpoz
- I mean, Star Wars was always a bunch of kid's movies. There's not much under the hood.garbage
- Also Emilia Clarke is lucky she's a fox, because holy shit she's a terrible actress.garbage

Saw it last night. Didn't like it but it was also not as bad as I thought. These days I compare all sci-fi flicks to the stupid Superhero movies so usually can't get worse than those.
Most of the time "Solo" didn't feel like it belonged in the StarWars universe. Only when Chewbacca or the Milennium Falcon was present is when I really thought it was a SW related movie.
IMO the writing was bad and much of the art direction while done well it was not connected as well to the SW universe.
The industrial setting in the beginning of the movie and later on with the trains in the mountains felt more like the old school Blade Runner movie.
I wish they did more stuff in dry desert planets with weird creatures. Really missed weird creatures like Jabba The Hutt and his weird entourage.
- The Lando character did nothing to the movie, maybe it's just hyped because it's David Glover.
- Hated the robot with female voice because it sounded like a human voice was recorded and a quick filter was put on. It could've been done much better and more stylized or something more quirky like C-3PO.
- The hairstyles and clothing of all the other human characters felt disconnected from the SW universe. Especially if you look at the main evil guy, he might as well be a James Bond villain. The main female also felt too stylish in her appearance. Which was also something I hated about "The Last Jedi" and that woman with purple hair and dress that looked like she just came from a fashion show.
- Hated the octopus in space scene. WTF. I get it in the old SW movie there's a giant space worm but this giant octopus in floating in space seemed so stupid. How can a organic lifeform survive in vacuum of space, makes no sense.
- And it's a SW related movie where are the damn lightsabers damn it?
Disney will probably continue to milk StarWars in any way possible and do more spin-off's. I hope that future ones will be written and executed better than this one.
- David Glover.. LOLautoflavour
- exactly with the space octopus .. (leaving the whole vacuum of space argument aside, like what the fuck does it eat out there in the middle of space?)autoflavour
- I caved in and now going to watch on big screen (promised myself I wouldn't again after The Last Jedi abomination).fadein11
- also no prizes for guessing who the next spin off movie is going to be about .. big bad guy at the end.. (trying to at least not spoiler it) but yep, autoflavour
- Sorry, Donald GloverM01XXX
- So you want more weird creatures but can’t handle a space octopus? You know, it’s a galaxy far away, long ago, right?monospaced
- David Glover is a galaxy far far away enough it seems.fadein11
- Yes weird creatures but still respecting physics somewhat. Creatures like Jabba and those smaller ones. Even the Ewoks were fun. Octopus in space makes no senseM01XXX
- ^ Ewoks were not fun. Never forgive.CyBrainX
- it's pants cos they made it 'universal' and something they can sell in the Chinese market.shapesalad
- I ha'd at David Gloverdocpoz
- It’s quite possible that physics would allow life forms to suevice in a space vacuum, in a galaxy far, far away.monospaced
- Also, they break so many physics rules just going into light speed it’s nt even funny. Lighten up and let the fantasy work it’s magic.monospaced
- there's a train on rails in a galaxy thats conquered gravity, the space octopus is fine.fadein11

I loved the fact that this movie came down to the fact that Han shot first.
I also loved the singers in the cantina. I know it's an old gimmick but those characters were great.
Most of the rest was a dumb action movie. Star Wars deserves better.
- MrT0
Saw it last night. Again it feels like a weird duty as a fan, followed by the dirty lack of satisfaction you get after eating a happy meal.
Felt like two hours based on a missing 10 mins from a director’s cut nobody wanted (now with added CGI).When you-know-who takes off her mask near the end, I whispered to MrsT, “Royal Baby” and the lady to the other side called me disgusting.
- Eighty0
The best thing that Disney could do at this point is cut the run times back to a reasonable 90 minutes. This is a daft series of films about space aliens, not Das Boot ffs.

Regurgitated Hollywood Garbage...the dumb fat lazy American's will love this flick!
- What about the skinny Americans?M01XXX
- The dumb fat lazy Americans I've spoken to seem wildly apathetic about this piece of shit movie.MondoMorphic
- There's bigotry in your utopia?docpoz
- My healthy active American friends enjoyed it. Oh well.monospaced

Terrible.

- <yup_niko
- George Lucas, you have to buy back the rights...you're our only hope!
lol_niko - Hahahahadopepope
- Lucas had his chance and shit the bed for 3 films straight. Fuck that.monospaced
- Yeah but Those 3 shitty films are going to look like masterpieces next to the drivel Disney’s pumping out_niko
- ^ Disney still has a long ways to fall for that to happen.ETM
- https://56packardman…imbecile
- I disagree niko, but to each their ownmonospaced
- I actually liked all the new ones haven't seen solo yet but can see how easily Disney can over-kill everything for profits._niko
- Revenge of the Sith does look like a decent SW film now next to recent efforts (aside from Rogue One of course).fadein11

I like this review:
- Al_dizzle0
Damn guys... it wasn't THAT bad.
- thumb_screws1
I though it was good not great. Space heist movie. There were a couple of jarring bits but it overall i dug it.
I liked how it linked through to whats happened in clones wars.
It did kind a feel like a live action episode of rebels or clones wars.
- caterpus0
I felt that it was more satisfying than Last Jedi. Cheesy yet pleasing. Here are my takeaways-
Star Wars Mad Max
Kessel Run was sick
Dat ass on L3
Chewy is the most handsome wookiee.
I love how everything we knew about Han Solo happened in the matter of a couple days.
I loved it.
- Bluejam2
An average SW film.
They nailed the 'look'.
The actors all did well.
The story was terrible. Too many duplicate scenes - two heists and two card table scenes, really? They should of just had loads of bounty hunters/smugglers all going for the Kessel Run in a 'Smokey and the Bandit' or 'Its a Mad Mad Mad World' kinda way - minus the comedy. They killed off two characters way too early.
That droid. As with Last Jedi, take your pop culture/social references and fuck off. We're in a galaxy, far, far away ...
- prophetone0
I usually rate a movie by asking 'would I buy this on bluray?'... yep, it was good to great. Kessel run ftw.
- docpoz0
yup. this was really cute.
I thought I was going to hate the actor but I was rooting for him to pull it off and I think he did well enough.you can hate me now. ha.

Kathleen Kennedy May Be Leaving Lucasfilm and Star Wars
https://movieweb.com/kathleen-ke…
Great news if true.
- The damage has already been done...the woman ruined Star Wars...but thank goodness nonethelessMondoMorphic
- If she's a feminist she definitely left her mark.docpoz
- one day hopefully a Hollywood shuck will realise many Star Wars nerds are now in their 40s+. Time to skip this kiddie shit and make films for that market.inteliboy
- I agree. Or make SW Rebels style films for kids and a branch of slightly grittier/darker films for the old nerds.fadein11
- The nasty woman ruined my stories about spaceships, laser swords, and walking carpets.face_melter

Got a ticket to see this tomorrow for the last IMAX showing at my theater. I’m the only person in the theater so far, and it looks like I’ll have it all to myself. Haha.
