Going in October for a few days. What to do? What to eat? What to drink? What to see?
Never been. Need suggestions.

Every time i go there I like to hang out around kensington market.
- PonyBoy2

I know it seems cliche but I would hit the CN tower and than head over to Steam whistle brewery for happy hour.
There are a ton of amazing places to eat.
If you want to hit a show I think the best venue is the opera house.
Dugans is a pretty cool brew pub to check out for food and drink.
...I miss Toronto :(

Went there last year for a few days, did a lot of the typical tourist stuff but some of the highlights for food were:
- Dinner at night in the CN tower, just phenomenal views - so cool at night
- Dinner in O.Noir, completely dark restaurant
Enjoy!

October? If the leaves are changing, get to High Park or Trinity-Bellwoods.
West Queen West is a good area to get a bit of everything – the trendier bars and restos and shops (and Bellwoods Brewery is there, with a heated patio if needed). Dundas West, a few blocks north too (eat at Saving Grace, drink at Archive or Old School, get some pies at Pie Commission and head to the park).
Get to Bar Raval in Littly Italy.
Kensington Market, as mentioned, is worth checking out if there's a street party.
The AGO just west of the Chinatown downtown, if you're looking to get some culturificatin'.
Pick up a Bixi bike and take the ferry to the Islands, or go over to the Leslie Street Spit.

Drink lots of beer, drive around the city, smoke a cigar with the ladies, wine and dine on steak pieces served with a plate of lemon and oysters. That was my Toronto trip.

Great tips. Definitely going to try to do a day trip to Niagara Falls.
If you got any more food/drink or stuff to do tips, I'm all ears.
- stop off at a vineyard on Niagara-on-the lake. great place to get a buzz for cheap.hotroddy
- If you're going to Niagara, check out Oast House Brewers and Silversmith. And Dillon's Small Batch, just off the highway.i_monk
- You'll be passing through wine country to get to the Falls, too.i_monk
- I'd skip the falls and just to niagra-on-the-LakeGnash
- Niagara Falls (the town) is the Tackiest Place on Earth™.i_monk

Niagara:
If you want to do Niagara, go full tilt. Get super cheesy. And just enjoy it. You can zipline by the falls now too. Take the GO Train from Toronto all the way to Niagara (it runs until Fall I think). Don't bother to drive, since then you can drink and besides parking is a nightmare in Niagara. Casinos in Canada don't give out free booze :(CN Tower:
Great views and worth it. Here's a little trick I do when I take relatives to say a load of cash. Make a reservation for Dinner ahead of time. Then you get to skip the line-ups to get up. And you get to go up the tower for free. So you can spend the money you would have to go up on some decent grub. You can now walk around the outside of the tower too. http://www.edgewalkcntower.ca/Right beside the CN Tower is an amazing Aquarium. It's huge. And surprisingly well laid out and organized.
Thats the cheesy stuff out of the way.
Bars.... ton's of great ones once you are north of Queen West. Try find the secret bar in the Kensington Market.
Food... OK Try Tim Hortons just to be amazed you can gore on doughnuts and coffee for under $10 and still have change. Other that's out of your system there are lot's of great places. Burgers are big in Toronto. And for Burittos you can't beat Burrito Boyz. Don't go to Swiss Chalet, The Keg, Milestones, and anything that looks like a chain. Do go to St. Lawerence Market.
The Distillery District - Personally I'm not a fan. But lots of small galleries and jewelry markers etc.
The Beaches - October will be still ok to visit the beach. Toronto has great ones.
Toronto Island - Yes go here. Bring a picnic.
AND since it will be fall, I highly advise to try get out of the city and experience all the colours in the Escarpment.
- aggh lots of typos but you get the drift.Centigrade
- Tim Hortons is horrible man. Dont get coffee there.Al_dizzle
- ya forget about timmyhoepango

The Junction has some good restaurants/bars too.. bit removed from downtown but less crowded.
'Cantina Playa Cabana' (mexican), 'Indie Ale House' (pub food and local brewery), and 'Nodo' (Italian) are all across the street from each other. 'Roux' and 'The Passenger' are also good restaurants in the area.
If you head further south on Dundas west, towards Ossington theres some good bars too...
Black Dice has a Japanese booze with a rockabilly vibe.
The Garrison usually has some good shows.
Get Well has retro arcade machines (younger crowd though). If you're on Queen west you can hit up one of the many pretentious clubs in the area. Or if that's not your thing... and you want to hit up a punk show... look for soybomb @ bathurst. Last party I went to there fucking killed.

I think there is a comedy festival going on over there right now.
- i_monk0
Roncesvalles (a neighbourhood near High Park) has some good places to eat too (like Barque), and Bandit Brewery is just a block away on Dundas.
- monNom0
Is it still the case that you can't safely go in the water at 'the beaches'?
Try a lick's burger. Tastey burgers and they sing your order.
- Toronto's beaches are clean, and Lick's doesn't exist anymore.i_monk

What's that burrito place?
Tinny tinny place.- Mexican in Canada? I wonder if it's as pathetic and confused as it is in England.monospaced
- It's not franchise. I think it's pretty good. Although I don't know what authentic Mexican food tastes like.pango
- I have no idea but you should definitely find something authentic someday or else you're missing out.monospaced
- Speaking of not missing out. You should definitely try snake wine from Thailand.pango

if you're into sports, might be worth checking out the hockey hall of fame, or catch a leaf's game and get a glimpse of future superstar and fellow yank Auston Matthews.
Might be the first time in almost 50 years that the leafs are worth watching lol.
- Ugh leaf. Lolpango
- Checked. No preseason games while I'm there. Boo!CincodeMayo
