    The Junction has some good restaurants/bars too.. bit removed from downtown but less crowded.

    'Cantina Playa Cabana' (mexican), 'Indie Ale House' (pub food and local brewery), and 'Nodo' (Italian) are all across the street from each other. 'Roux' and 'The Passenger' are also good restaurants in the area.

    If you head further south on Dundas west, towards Ossington theres some good bars too...
    Black Dice has a Japanese booze with a rockabilly vibe.
    The Garrison usually has some good shows.
    Get Well has retro arcade machines (younger crowd though).

    If you're on Queen west you can hit up one of the many pretentious clubs in the area. Or if that's not your thing... and you want to hit up a punk show... look for soybomb @ bathurst. Last party I went to there fucking killed.
