I've never edited a movie. I can't figure out how to do this. I'm on a Mac. I need some sort of software download or online service that does this.
The movie already has music, but I need to delete the existing music and add new music.
Thanks for any help!!!!!!!! :-)

You should be able to do this in most cheap vid editing software.
Just turn down the audio associated w/your main mp4 (should be pretty intuitive) then add another media item to your timeline (your new audio... you should be able to import mp3's etc and just drop them on the timeline)...
... then output the damn thing via whatever render queue is built into the app

Thanks Pony. Yeah I keep trying different software, but they ask for money or add a watermark to the video. Can anyone point me to a specific (and free) software?

Quicktime 7 Pro will allow you to delete audio / video tracks and overlay new ones. Despite it being over a century old, it still runs on modern Apple kit.
- Of course, therebare 'free' versions kicking about - it only needs a relevant serial number, no online activation horseshit.face_melter

so... you just have an mp4 and audio track to combine?
What's the duration of the video / audio?
If you can't find anything to help you out just upload the two items to some sharing service and I'll stitch them together as one if you like
(can't be that taxing... like... 5 mins of work?? or is it longer than a standard audio track? Guess I'm imagining this being 5 mins long)

Thanks for the offer Pony, I appreciate it... but it's got personal images on there, and I don't feel comfortable sharing that. Thanks though. It's about a minute long. I've downloaded like 5 software programs so far, and all have a watermark or ask for money. Thought it would be much simpler than this! :-)
- :( lame you can't find anything... feel free to use me as a last resort :)PonyBoy

http://www.movavi.com/ is worth a look.
You can get their full suite for personal use for about £35.
With it you get video editing software as well as screen capture software which is pretty good to have. A decent investment for the future for that kind of money.
I'd much rather spend the £35 than fanny around for 3 hours looking for software and installing 5 other pieces of software only to find they watermark what I'm wanting to do.
Time is money too! ;)- always handy having some decent screen grab video software.microkorg

Isn't there a free version of Avid now?

Photoshop:
open vid in photoshop. open the timeline if it's not visible. add the desired audiotrack in the timeline (little arrow on the music note). render the clip (from timeline hamburger menu top right).
- LOL. Amazing. This works. A photo-editing application FFS. THANKS UAN!!!!!!!!!!!iCanHazQBN

btw. a lot of these suggestions recommend re rendering the video clip (imovie, photoshop, any video editing software basically). that would be daft, and look like shit... you can replace the audio track in an mp4 without touching the video track... can't help with the software though, i would use logic audio!
