- As an outsider, I think removing the option of walking away gives the EU power over the terms to leave the EU.IRNlun6
- I can see how the anti-Brexit side would support that but that still leaves the UK in a terrible position to negotiation from.IRNlun6
- we can't just walk away though - we'll have to negotiate a trade deal at some point.Fax_Benson
- Oh I agree. At this point though the EU doesn't have to agree to anything. They can just wait, force a re-election and Brexit re-vote.IRNlun6
- the EU also know that crashing out is a worse option. Us threatening to do it anyway doesn't change the fact.Fax_Benson

Looks like there might be a deal then. Maybe in time for this Super Saturday thing.
- I am so bored of Brexit, a dystopian future had become appealing.fadein11
- I wouldn't give up hope of it yetFax_Benson
- If he does get a deal that appeases his nutjob backers and pleases the lay bigots of the shires he is going to be unbearablyfadein11
- smug, Priti will look like a humble public servant in comparison.fadein11
- Wait til he wins the subsequent electionFax_Benson
- I know! ffs. I think it may be closer than expected, tiny majority but yep outside of the echo chamber Corbyn has low support.fadein11
- Imagine wanting Boris to remain PM. England's a mess.PhanLo
- Our lovely press have done their job again.fadein11

if Boris gets a deal over the line, will he be swept to election victory as the king of brexit?
Or will his job be done and, rather than the election being a de facto 2nd referendum, people will be free to vote on every other issue, brexit party support dissolves and traditional party allegiance re-emerges?
If you're Labour, do you want a brexit deal done or not done before an election? Does it matter?
- if he gets a deal, it will be 'in name only'
and no better than May'sBluejam - and whatever the outcome, the after effects are going to dominate for years and yearsBluejam

< faceplam >Bluejam - yeah, it was fucked from day 1. The last 3 years have just been a giant squabble over which dildo gets used.Fax_Benson
- If he gets a deal he will win yep. Actually really surprised there is a deal, I wholly swallowed the No Deal was always the plan theory.fadein11
- His cronies are the only winners regardless.fadein11
- deal is irrelevant if Labour MPs don't vote for it though.Fax_Benson
- lol
https://twitter.com/…Bluejam - ha, about right.Fax_Benson
- i'm still betting on no deal. euros playing chicken, bozo will use it to his advantagehans_glib
- they will have to vote a reasonable deal through after months of saying no deal was what they(he) were against.fadein11
- if he gets a deal, it will be 'in name only'

Rees Mogg just said to the Commons;
"It will be a golden age for the UK, when we are free of the heavy yoke of the EU, that has bowed us down for generations, all of that will be gone and we will be singing hallelujahs"
That's the kind of shit Trump would say if he knew more 20 words.
- Brexit will make you guys will be ripe for being invaded by Turkey.robotron3k

"Johnson's deal will be a wrecking ball through the lives & well-being of ordinary people across Britain. Labour MPs cannot and must not vote for it. If they do, the NEC will have no choice but to replace them with a new, socialist Labour candidate at the next election"
Jon Lansman - https://twitter.com/jonlansman/s…
Pass the purity test or be undemocratically replaced. You can swap the bit about Johnson's deal for any old sentence.
- Didn’t Boris remove 27 of his own MP in this same exact way less than a month ago?scruffics
- he removed the whip, so yeah, in effect - temporarily at least. ?Fax_Benson
- yup, Johnson did similar. why would they vote through a worse deal than May's after voting against that numerous times.fadein11
- yes but they want a peoples vote but then to vote against it, they also want a general election but then said they dont want one after all, and voted in articletrooperbill
- 50... labours hypocrisy knows no bounds.trooperbill
- Wtf would labour want to pick up this mess. There is no way winning an election at this point is going to do them any good. Might as well wait for...scruffics
- ... tories to self destructscruffics
- The tories have been doing that for the past 5 years. How about getting elected and fucking fixing somethingFax_Benson
- yuekit1
- crazy. compete refusal to engage with reality.Fax_Benson

- Krassy3
is this Brexit circus thing still going on? WTF!?
- ∞PhanLo
- ^Krassy
- There are a number of political commentators who suggest it will actually go on for decades.
Yaay?Nairn - It all somewhat reminds me of Charles Dickens' Bleak House.Nairn
- the people voted 3 years ago; what's going on? by now the UK could have left and re-entered the EU! hahaKrassy
- it was always going to take at least 2 yrs (now 3+) to agree a withdrawal agreement. Then 2 more for a transition period while a trade agreement sorted...Fax_Benson
- which could take 5+ yearsFax_Benson
- brexit years seem to take twice as longFax_Benson
- ridiculous, any way you look at it. Should have never been up for a vote (in the form it was put up for a vote) in the first place!Krassy
- indeed krassy, but our arrogant, ham-faced, pig fucking PM at the time didn't think he could lose.fadein11
