Im 40 in a month and the wife has decided to buy me some tech instead of a stupid watch i wont wear. im after a decent pair of wireless/bluetooth over ear headphones to wear when being antisocial at work so people know im listening to music and not ingoring them due to wearing in ear types.
around £100/$150 tops i think and nothing too bass heavy would be good as i like rock and metal and actually like to hear mid and high end parts of tunes.
anyone got any recomendations?

- < exactly, they only last a couple of hours and bluetooth isn't exactly known as passing on anything considered quality audiomonospaced
- um... what? most wireless headphones charge via bluetooth now. No batteries.kona
- I have a pair of in-ear Jay Bird Storm X2 that were $143. They fit great and are comfortable. However, I don't think I could wear them all day.kona
- I also have a pair of Beats Studio noise-cancelling wireless headphones. The sound is great but they're... Beats. The price point is higher than what u want.kona
- If I had a do-over I would get a set of Audio Technica. http://www.abt.com/p…kona
- argh. edit. Most headphones charge via USB now.kona
- When something charges by USB, what do you think they are charging?
Batteries die. Viva la cords.jasontroj - 'needs batteries and shit' implied AA or AAA batteries. not internal polymer type. you don't need to purchase batteries for most wireless headphones.kona
- ewwwwwwwnb

- Never buy headphones that aren't german or made by companies that know jack shit about headphones like MarshallWeyland

Bose QC25 headphones
Yes these are a bit more than you were planning to spend but if you haven't experienced really good noise cancelling headphones then seriously - don't knock them until you have tried them.
I have a pair of the QC20i's which are the in-ear version. I got them as I do a few long haul flights a year and can never sleep. These put you in a little bubble of silence when you don't have music playing (just the noise-cancelling turned on). But when you do listen to music all you hear is the music - no chatter from anyone. It even does very well at blocking out aircraft noise itself.
I've tried the QC25's and they do a better job of cutting out the noise as your whole ear is inside the cup. I knew i wouldnt be able to sleep with these on though.
A few friends that I've let try these out have went ahead and bought a couple.
A very decent investment!
Probably the best noise cancelling out there and really decent sound - they are bose :)Only drawback is they aint wireless/bluetooth.
Just get a longer cable extension :P
