Anybody else here avid smokers? I bought a Weber Smokey Mountain in June, and after doing a few chickens and some pork ribs, had the determination to finally do a brisket this weekend and invite neighbors over. Great success as the Borat would say!
I've got a post on Reddit with my cooking overview:

Wouldn't call myself an avid smoker, but I've been smoking for a few years now...have a propane powered box smoker...really enjoyed it.
We help butcher pigs once a year, so one of my projects is always smoked ham (bone in). Takes about 10-12 hours depending on the weight of the ham and the time of year. Also smoked the bacon I made from said pig as well (along with smoking hocks and other things).
Love smoked duck + turkey as well.
- avid smokers, meat smokers, you got me thinking about things not related to food.CyBrainX

That's food? Looks like you picked up some roadkill and lit it on fire.

looks great mg33, what did you serve it with?

Smoked baked beans mixed with molasses, a neighbor brought salad, another one brought deviled eggs. Had sandwiches with the meat.

I'm putting aside pennies for when the girlfriend will permit one of these:
But until then I will be using my pair of trusty Webers. My favourite is pork ribs or wings that I get cheap from the local Asian supermarket, but I look forward to my first brisket, mg33's looks amazing with that bark and smoke ring.
These are my last wings that I posted a while back in PotD
Some people have also posted pretty much every episode of BBQ Pitmasters online, I like all the different rubs and injections these guys use, Americans have BBQ to an artform.

Buddha - definitely give some thought to a Weber Smokey Mountain. Offset smokers are great, but I'm learning of the cult following with vertical ones because of consistent heat coverage.
I would love a big steel offset one myself one day though. :)

N/M, just saw that you currently have a Weber.

Definitely spend some time watching these Aaron Franklin videos. He's my favorite of the well known guys.

that first image is terrible.
- lung cancerCALLES
- What do you honestly think is terrible about it? It's the bark; every good brisket looks like that.mg33
- some people think the char contains carcinogens that would harm youmonospaced

is this a gay thread?
- Only if you mistakenly have images turned off and totally missed the photos that provide context.mg33

oh, i miss smoked food, there was a small restaurant here in são paulo called Smoky Jô, but it has closed, was the only one I knew that had everything smoked, from meats to rice, to sandwiches... and Jô was a nice fat guy who served and coocked the food.
I miss it so much... i think he broked or died, idk... just saw people saying it was closed on some google auto generated pages :(

Finally reached the point where I'm not into the Weber Smokey mountain anymore because the cleanup is a pain, and I want something with fewer pieces. A neighbor told me about the PK360 aluminum smokers and I think this is my upgrade.
