Curved text in photoshop

The 2 ways to do this that I know of aren't doing what I need. The warp text tool using the arc option actually distorts the texts, and putting the text on a curved path only seems to allow one line of copy, but I have 2 lines of copy.
Any way to do that as 1 text box, without having to make multiple separate lines of copy which can get unwieldy if you have a ton of copy that you need to do this for?
For example if you want to have a paragraph around a curve, you wouldnt want to do each line separately.

Good God, Cygnus - what's your main trade?
.
Do this in Illustrator - draw a circle, take your text tool, click around the periphery somewhere.
- And make two circles.
It'd take more time to automagic this than just do it stupidly.detritus - I'm curious, too ... what DO you do for a living, Cygnus?Continuity
- And make two circles.

Did you read my entire post? I know exactly how to do that in Illustrator, but it's only great if you have one line of copy that needs to go around the path. Well I have like 30. Not exactly looking to make 30 circles.
Let's see if someone with a more helpful response weighs in... that isnt on their period this morning.
- Where in your post does it mention Illy?
I'd still recommend doing it manually with 30 sets of two concentric circles - what's that, 10 minutes effort?detritus - You'll still have n minutes per piece finessing it manually anyway, even if you do find an 'automagic' route.detritus
- 'n seconds', evendetritus
- To be fair Cygnus you said two lines not thirty in your original post...set
- he mentioned a paragraph of textzarkonite
- a paragraph could be just two lines.detritus
- Where in your post does it mention Illy?

With the multiple paths selected,
> Type > Threaded Text > Createpaste copy. acts like linking text boxes in InDesign
- yupmonospaced
- ooh damn, that is useful! thanks for this!lvl_13

^ Shit now we're on to something. That option is greyed out though for some reason :(

Why would you want a wavy paragraph of text? Sounds horrendous.
- Dont worry about that honey. You arent the client that's asking for this, and paying me.CygnusZero4
- Its not wavy, its slightly curved.CygnusZero4
- lol I love qbnset

I'm lost with this threaded text option. I have a paragraph of text. Am I supposed to be created 30 circles and then select them?
- CygnusZero40
Gnash, youre talking about each path. I dont know what you mean. I have no paths. I have a paragraph of copy. How do I take this paragraph and be able to have each line wrap correctly around a curve, without having to make 30 paths?
- ... 30 paths for each line of the paragraph.CygnusZero4
- you connect them as a text thread, and paste them inmonospaced
- detritus-2
Well, that's only an hour spent trying to find a quicker way of doing this. Good job.
- Trying to learn. Amazing, right?CygnusZero4
- Youre useless and havent helped. Good job.CygnusZero4
- if you'd done what I'd first said you'd be done and supping margheritas by now.detritus
- Uh, what you first said is exactly what I wasnt asking for. Sounds like youve had too many.CygnusZero4
- Wasnt asking how to do 1 line of copy champ. Sounds like you could learn something from this thread.CygnusZero4
- Since you clearly dont know how to do what I was asking.CygnusZero4

If someone is so inclined, how do I take the below copy, and put it all on a single curve without having to create a curve for every line of the paragraph? Back to square one.
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Praesent ut elit felis. Maecenas aliquet vel ipsum vel congue. Aliquam eget purus magna. Sed condimentum nibh sed diam sollicitudin aliquam. Quisque semper sodales purus nec vehicula. Aenean a dolor in mauris molestie tincidunt et nec diam. Vivamus sodales mattis finibus. In congue volutpat lacus, nec tempor turpis aliquam quis. Nulla facilisi. Nullam et consequat sem.
- dmay1
something like this?
- dmay1
- exactly like thatCygnusZero4
- without having to make a lot of pathsCygnusZero4
- You have to make the paths, but that's RIDICULOUSLY easymonospaced
- dmay - what font is this?mg33
- Just Myriad, no..?detritus
- You could use Type > Warp Text.
It stretches in a not nice way though.
Make the paths.CyBrainX
- CygnusZero41
^ please explain how you did this. takes 15 posts on this site to get here.
- Make paths... connect paths as text threads... paste text... profitmonospaced
- set1
- dmay1
- draw the lines you think it takes to hold the intire text
- warp the lines
- ungroup the lines
- copy the text
- click with the type tool in all the lines, you will have to deselect every time
- paste the text on the first line
- click on the red plus icon to link to the other lines
- detritus0
- ~10 minutes to get this far (yes,it's not exactly finessed) and make a GIF animation and upload to a server.detritus
- vs. 2 hours trying to do it a 'quicker' way.
Of course, I haven't a clue what I'm on about though.detritus - he helped in 5 seconds, while you tried to explain some lame way to do it. you actually are on something and havent helped bro.CygnusZero4
- may well be lame, but it works and i responded 5 minutes after you first posted. You're still half an hour off supping that margherita, Cygnus.detritus
- ..whilst I'm sat here with Marychain snorting Tumeric off a large Samoan woman's belly, oh yeah.detritus
- ie. at home in the dark alone with a ciderset
- in the studio with a tea, but close.
i am very alone, though. I lied about Marychain and the large Samoan woman :(detritus - I KNEW IT!set
- detritus0
- :)detritus
- Irrelevant. People dont learn this way.CygnusZero4
- I hope youre not a fucking teacher. Shut up kid! Just do it the harder way to get it done!CygnusZero4
- time = money, cygnus.
and money = margheritas.detritus - lolfadein11
- mg330
Does this satisfy your needs? I can't imagine doing this any easier way.
- Whoops, well, you said the arc tool wasn't what you need, however, this doesn't look any more/less distorted than the example detritus posted.mg33
- Yeah it warps the texts.CygnusZero4
- Distorts the letters.CygnusZero4
- By visually comparing in PS, it does not distort the text any more or any less than what dmay posted above depending on the bend %.mg33
- Horizontal and Vertical distortion are both set at 0%.mg33
- CygnusZero40
Same project, different part of it, and different problem. Why does the text on a curve in Illustrator look like shit? Cant get some letters perfectly lined up? Trying all kinds of different fonts and sizes, always terrible looking.
MG33, it doesnt even look good in the AI file you sent. Text all jaggen and shitty looking.
- Ignoring the typo, look at the second half of compliance. Derp. Letters starting to droop.CygnusZero4
- Does it still look like that when you zoom in? Sometimes Illy's a bit shit at rendering things like that neatly.detritus
- I didn't send an AI file. I did a video of performing this in PS with the Warp Tool > Arc.mg33
- / also, try selecting the text and then outlining it - sometimes that forces a neater render.detritus
- meant detritus sorryCygnusZero4
- it's the way it renders on screen -- it will look fine when printed.Gnash
