check analytics to see what they are requesting, maybe somebody posted an image hosted by you on some forum, cheking referrers can help too

You need to look at what those 'visits' are doing via your server logs. If your visitor is requesting a long list of files that 404, that's a bot looking for vulnerabilities in unpatched software. If it's someone following a link in and looking at 1 or more pages, that's probably legitimate.

LOL!!! its the internet dude... people in those countries have internet... lol...
but... who cares where they're from?
i mean, its' not like you're not paying for US traffic and getting traffic from iraq or bombay, so it doesn't really matter, does it?
If they bought something off your site, are you going to return the money because they're from Iraq or croatia?

Just because you don't know anyone in those countries, doesn't mean they're bots.
There are designers from all over the world, continuously looking at other people's work and portfolios for inspiration.
I myself don't know 99.999999999% of the people who's sites I've looked at... and they're from all over the world.
I think they're legitimate hits.
