^ We have Universal Healthcare in Uruguay. The government retains the state an amount of money from my nominal salary, so the company where I work is the one who pays the coverage. I only pay a cheap ticket for inquiries/exams/etc.
From the mutual point of view, it is a very important logistic chaos. I knew it when my son was born and I had to go to the doctor for checks every week for months. Clearly it is much more effective, fast, and also access to better quality medicine if you pay a private, but for those who do not have access to such a high expense, the truth is that it is not bad.
