after effects can do that fairly easily.
- animatedgif0
Basic After Effects can do it but it wont look anywhere near as nice as that.
Cinema 4D is a better bet.

Blender is free and should do the trick also: http://www.blender.org/

"VRay Test" is kinda contradictory to "fast and easy"

You're going to need 1000's of dollars worth of software before paying even more for the vray software alluded to or work through that headache.
The irony of someone just doing it for you will floor me considering all the no spec, no free work threads that pop up here.
This is easy work for someone with the software, so you're best bet is to pay someone to create the slides for you.

It's hard to get easier than Illy's 3d tool.
- Just has really shitty controls and really shitty resultsanimatedgif

Sketchup is what you need. It has a 3d text tool and a 'push' tool to extrude it. you can export as a PNG for sure.
- It's also free.
you can also change the "camera len's" focal distance. if you want a wide angle or not.transmission - There is a "free" version, but if you need to import/export, it ain'tformed
- it imports/exports some but not all file formatstransmission
- It's also free.

this is a gap in the market - online 3d tool for simple stuff like text and basic objects or imported models. Render / lighting options etc - hi-res still image micropayments or lo-res free. I would make use of that. Learning Blender but 3d is a huge learning curve and to be able to create quick n easy stuff online using a fast render farm would be rather good methinks. Or perhaps not.

^ Really wouldn't be a massive fucking challenge at all now with WebGL.
Real time preview in your browser and alright quality export or send it off to the server side render farm for 300dpi for a small cost. Server side rendering could all just be done using the same code on very high end video cards.

For results like that you need a renderer that supports Global Illumination (bounce lighting), or fudges it with Ambient Occlusion.
Probably none of those will be simple. They tend to be in the high-end packages.
This one is a possibility:

After Effects comes with C4D lite now... use that.
You can get great type results like the one above without global illumination.

ah..... remember....

Otherwise... I love Blender for simple type stuff...
In Blender when you're using cycles, you can turn any object into a natural light simply by going to the material settings, and choosing Emission. Blender also already has global illumination, whereas with C4D you have to buy it.
I just spent about 15 minutes and put this together in Blender (ignore font selection, etc... and it took a half-hour to render):
- ESKEMA0
Boxshot 4 + Sketchup
just use Sketchup for modeling stuff that's not in Boxshot like text and whatever, then import, set some settings, Boom. Profit.
- this took 5min.ESKEMA
- including render.ESKEMA
- this would also take 5 minutes in Blender, including renderSigDesign
- I'm was not saying it's better than Blender. Just that it's really easy and quick, like he asked..ESKEMA
- Oh I know... I'm just saying it's easier in Blender.. no modeling... just type your text, extrude add two lights and renderSigDesign
- Well I can do it in 4! HACK THE PLANET!zarkonite
- scarabin0
alien skin plugin for photoshop can crank that out with no skill required

cinema 4D test : 6 minutes setup, 9 seconds render : no ambient occlusion, no GI, 3 light only.
It is my choice since years, it is easy, versatile, complete.
