thanks looks like no more 17 " screens :(
I like how .3 ghz is a 600$ boost in price..
- yeah, not worth it. go with lower ghz and spend the money on external or ramlvl_13
- not ram through apple though, obviously.lvl_13
- you don't have a choice with apple nowadays ,thoughmonospaced

I found a huge performance improvement from my previous machine (first unibody mbp)
The 17screen is gone because they were too big and heavy, but with the high resolution you will have the same size screen you had on the 17' but on the 15 monitor.
The thing that sucks balls is that you can't upgrade ram on it (or replace the battery) which is ridiculous.

Dell's new XPS series are pretty nice (15 for the screen, 12 for a true convertible)
Macbooks are pretty, but w/o a touchscreen just not worth it to me (that and the lack of support)

Buying a computer in 2013 sucks!
Macs = loose upgradeability or buy older hardware
PCs = come with windows 8 and touch screens :-(I got a surface pro 2 but thats a toy. I do real work on a 2 year old 15" macbook pro.
- I have 2009 pro 2.9ghz 17" work horse. been pushing it/ maybe just get the solid state?yurimon

- really wished they kept the 17"yurimon
- if you buy a retina the 15 has the same space than the 17, minus all the inconveniences of size and weight, you are good to go!Miguex
- to go!Miguex

I've got an SSD in my MBP at home, and a regular drive in my MBP at work, and I sure wish they'd upgrade me at work!

Not trying to hijack yuri's thread but does anyone currently use the latest generation 13" pro for web work? I've always used 15" with 2 externals but it looks like the latest 13" would also support 2 external monitors.
- I use the 13" MBP for full-time web dev. I set it on a stand and plug in an external 24" monitor. Works great.nocomply

On a related note, I have a 13" MacBook Air with max RAM and HDD with a Thunderbolt Display, and I wouldn't switch this setup with anything ever again. I used to run a 13" MBP on a Cinema Display i5 and it sucked performance-wise. I was a non-believer before picking this setup out, and am a happy customer these days.
