The premise is great, the cast is good, the retro-ness was done quite well. However, the narrative could not sustain a 90min duration. It would have made a great 30min Twilight Zone.

If you must watch it, try and get into the theatre for free. If you’ve exhausted all the other in-flight movies then fair enough, give it a shot. I’m not even disappointed just underwhelmed. It’s a smear of excrement on the legacy of the first film.
It’s an understudy of a film. Ridley didn’t turn up.

Perfectly executed film that I couldn't find engaging.
Some great moments but every scene tends to end the same way. The part I loved the most was a super minor aspect of the film, the street scenes that I found beautifully shot.
I would def not call this a horror movie.I might just not be the right audience, having seen the original Murnau one and Tod Browning's version when I was 10 or so. Loved the Coppola one so much more.

So, i watched the 3 hour version of this today while i had some easy page layout work to do and the ending ruined the whole thing. He went round the planet faster than light or whatever, reversed time, saved Lois and Jimmy but fucked all the kids off on the Golden Gate bridge, and flying to the centre of the earth again to stop the the San Andreas fault from collapsing (as the nuclear weapons must've still hit) and then dropped Lex off in prison. The end!! Honestly, i know attention to detail has somewhat improved over the years, but that was a bad ending.- really? is that in the first one that he does all that? I though the first one was more intimate, shows his life on krypton, then in smallville and finally his_niko

Uncanny valley aside, it doesn't really have an ending and half the dialogue references backstories that aren't really explained and don't seem to really matter anyway.
