Like others have said, your last site was really great so I don't want to compare this one to that.
I like minimal but this may be a bit too minimal. Perhaps just adding a persistent logo with color would do the trick. Would be nice to get info on what things are too, without having to do an additional swipe. The minimal thumbnails just doesn't do enough for me (I see thumbnails but I don't know what it is). In order for me to find out what it is, it requires me to do 'work' and use my time up (just thinking from a potential client's perspective). Would be nice to quickly glance and find something out and or be able to browse to something specific without having to browse through everything, if that makes any sense.
Not crazy about the navigation for the site (it probably works great on mobile though). On a desktop, took me a bit to figure out I had to swipe to get to another section (I'd imagine clients would have an even harder time figuring that out). I know there's that animated wireframe of how to navigate the site but realistically, do you want users to have to sit through that (background) animation just to figure out what to do? Plus, it's kind of cheesy (almost reminiscent of those old animations that had a mouse cursor moving to a button and showing it clicking on the button). Also, I had no idea there was another page of thumbnails (until I said what happens when you swipe horizontally). I'd imagine most people would do the same.
I REALLY like how responsive it is though.
You're so mysterious. Would be good to know who paul at socket studios is. An 'about' section is always nice to have. It's probably one of the first sections I go to after I check the work out.
I dig the subtle touches of color (how the lil circles match some of the colors in the work images).
Not crazy about all of the gray either, perhaps it's a lil too much gray. Makes me sad :(

I like the minimalism, BUT, the slide and snap swipe is annoying to use. Why hide the text? The majority of your work requires some sort of explanation since it is all sort of minimal and vague at a glance when trying to determine what it is.
Use a slide-down to show the selection for each piece instead of modal navigation is disorienting because you expect the last item you selected to be there.
Answer me this: If I was an agency or company trying to understand your strengths with a particular type of work, how do I do that? Or do I have to click through all your pieces to see what they are in order to judge that?

Gorgeous! I'm definitely gonna have to copy paste that bad boy :P
- It works great on my iPad 2 btw. Lots of fancy stuff run bad so thanks for that.Hombre_Lobo
- (I mean fancy JavaScript and animation stuff usually run terrible and are badly optimised for mobile)Hombre_Lobo

I also liked your old site.
And like your old site, with this site You seem to have approached it in the same you would an approach an app and less like a website. Which is something I've realised recently is a good idea. Thanks for sharing!

Love some of it, some frustrated me. Something telling the viewer to use a down arrow to start would be helpful. If this wasn't QBN I'd have given up at about 2 mouse clicks.
I agree w/ CZ4's comment above. I love the smooth simplicity, but there's nothing hinting at what or why I should dig farther. I love the colors in some of your work, quite beautiful, maybe a simple diagram showing how to navigate would work (who reads??).
Subtle colored diagram that you can click on vs. arrows would be nice (not a fan of nav that I need to take my hand off my mouse/tablet).

Arrow keys are a nice touch. Good work.

Old site was pretty tired btw. I'm surprised some of you think it was better than the new one.

Sterile and clean is fine, but in the right way. Clean nav, overall design, usability, etc.. Here this is a portfolio, so although I know where to click, nothing is motivating me to. This is exactly why most good portfolio sites have some great looking thumbs. Immediately something is pleasing my eyes and thats what makes me want to see more of it. Nothing teasing me here, so its overly simple.

Have I done clean in the wrong way? I'm not sure I have... There is a rational behind wire, icon, full work. Putting a full colour photo or close crop of the UI would break that rational, and for what? So I can design for someone else?
- "I've done minimal the wrong way.", no way man; you're simply introducing something people can't yet comprehend...ideaist
- So you can make people want to dig deeper. Right now there is generic colorless images.CygnusZero4
- I felt no desire to click on each of them since Im not being teased with anything.CygnusZero4

It's really nice and well thought out...I especially like how the top image changes and thumbnails paginate as you change the screen size.

loved your old site, this refresh is killing it. immediately scrolled; intuitive imo. digging the mouse click circle thing that appears.
was trying to swipe L/R though on project landing slide, took me a minute.
nice work!
- < agree a horiz swipe on a project detail could be killerbulletfactory
- There is swipe on the project galleries. Maybe not understanding what you mean.sktIII
- ah - click and drag, as well as left/right arrow. nvrmnd. Should have played with it more.bulletfactory
- ah... yes. a bit awkward on the laptop i'm using at the moment.doesnotexist
- ah, i see now. hard to do on a laptop, i'm always trying to swipe it L / Rdoesnotexist
- ah!doesnotexist
- Aye yeah, trackpad swiping is a bit tricky. Works ok with a mouse though.sktIII
- iunno id rather swipe, the clicking is throwing me off even on my magic mouse + imacdoesnotexist
- well, you can do that too.sktIII

really, really fucking nice.

Haven't seen the previous one, really dig the new one. The thumbnails seem a bit uninviting to be honest, otherwise - great work.
- CygnusZero40
I dont like how I dont know what I want to click on. All I see are images of ipads, random names, numbers, etc.. nothing is pulling me into the work. Desperately need some kick ass thumbnails on the portfolio page, and some color!
- ideaist0
So fresh & so clean sktIII!
I love the subtle colour relationships between projects and navigation elements. As CygnusZero4 pointed out, though it is bordering on overly simple and thus several people will not know where to look/click/etc.
