It is kind of fun to daydream what the ultimate design forum would be. I've been a member at www.archinect.com for a long time. Their forum is split into topics, and still very simple and clean.

I find it a bit ironic that a bunch of design and web developer professionals are complaining about a web forum that's out of date and whose mod's are nowhere to be found.
Surely there are resources here that can be pulled together.

whether or not we have the skills is not the issue. we do and i've seen some cool ideas spring forth recently about a redesign.
the issue is the exodus. wiping the slate. ideally here is no exodus and we continue to keep the archive of threads alive for future generations. in other words we need to redesign THIS site imo. or have jk give us a big ol' sql dump.

my advice: keep on keepin' on in this dump. and by dump, i mean that literally. it's a massive dump of info/content/people. we are what keeps this hellhole going. it's like a version of mad max beyond thunderdome. 2 men enter...one man leave. jk left a billion years ago. and that crazy fuck magicpatch left far before that.

random drunk thoughts:
1. whenever some breaking news happens in the world, and i come to QBN, it's already posted here. this is an active community, which is good.
2. it should stay this way, because facebook groups are dumb. because not all of us have facebook. and though everything we write here will undoubtedly be tracked by the NSA, at least it's not getting sold for ad revenue. (directly.)
3. things change and things die. not sure who was a part of the shodown boards back in the late 90s, but those along with beast mag and computerlove and a few other spots were hot shit and have since all dissolved. if QBN dies, then so it dies.
as for now, just keep it, return until time or life or whatever prevents you from doing so, and realize in the end, it's just a goddamn message board. there are bigger things in the world to be concerned with.
