i thought it was universally accepted that the x-bone is a piece of shit designed for ms rather than gamers

I havent bought an Xbox since the original "one". Now that I'm older I only use my PS3 as a media center, streaming Hulu, Netfilx, Vudu, and ripped movies. Hopefully Sony will step up their media center on this one like XboxOne has claimed or I might be buying a Microsoft product for the first time in a decade. or would I be better off with a Roku and Apple TV?

They all want the living room/hub space, MS, Sony, Google, Apple, Android Mini PC's and the one I am looking forward to... Steambox.

PS4 looks heaps better. I have no idea why someone would want that new xbox, maybe if you're american for sports stuff.

I think these systems are getting so much power in terms of gpu/cpu processing power (ie. CUDA Cores, memory and primary cores) that this isn't really a fight for a gamer but more for the living room. (which i understand they've been doing for a while). I understand this as a game of 'Services' added. as in which platform adds more valuable services to their base. i wouldn't know how to define a 'serious gamer' between tablet, web and various devices that make games available, but i do know my girlfriend use the 360 everyday for netflix, hulu and amazon prime.
so the XOne makes sense in being a dvr. (if in fact it can fetch cloud based content) Sony i see, is focusing on gaming which as one, gets my attention and most likely my money. but that press conference did have a lot of non related game information.so i can see sony aiming to at the very least inform that they have tv content too.

it looks like an almost impossible battle to win for xbox now.
I suppose thats what happens when you dont even think about your target audience.

Look at this page
http://us.playstation.com/ps4/ga…Compared to this page
http://www.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-o…Yeah the X1 is $100 more, and very worth it to me. Sonys conference was so bad and MS's was so badass. They showed so many new games and Sony showed me a lot of what I knew about already
- haha you're thinking directly opposite to most of the internet right nowanimatedgif

With the design of Sonys console, I get the angles on front and back, but couldnt they leave it at that? The fact that its also angled horizontally annoys the shit out of me.
- ?
http://webassets.sce…fooler - I think the angle on the back is going to make plugging in stuff a pain in the assfooler

Ooh, so the XBoxOne has two more games stated on its page - one of which is Minecraft, another of which is Plants vs. Zombies - probably (if the internetchatter on the subject is anthing to go by) the only two indie games that the independents will bother making for the XOne.
*shrug*

ps. I totally, as in wholly and utterly, take back what I said here..

PS4 has more going for it. Cheaper and with none of the controversy the xbox has. Personally I'm not a fan of the voice control and hand motion trend going on, even though you can still use the controller. People who do the voice commands either look like a total nerd or a complete douche.
All this aside the games look nice, but still nothing that we haven't really seen with the current generation of consoles. I assume that will change down the road
- what if you buy an xbox and have the latest in tv gear with similar sound and movement tech? lolcruddlebub
