If you wait until QBN closes down, no one will know where the new site is located or who is signed up on to it.

dam news.today is taken...
how about nbn? like new-bn? yeh its gay isnt it, forget it.We need to come up with a new name + brand before we can move forward with domains and such, maybe get some ideas going and vote?

LOL!!
In the toolbar where you have an icon of a person, and the word "set" I actually thought this was to "set" your username, allowing for more rapid fire switching between aliases. Too funny.

We need a structure and a selected team before anything. For the moment we're a large bunch of people in a room and everyone speaking one over another with no leader.
Once that team is formed, they should create a private Facebook page (or anything else for that matter) where they will be able to talk about the project, share info and stuff to build the website.
They will chim in here when they want to share stuff, if everything is talked and share in here, it's going to be a total mess, everyone will have their opinion, people will put memes in the thread etc.
my 2 cent
- I'm beginning to think you lot are simply enjoying the 'planning' process, rather than the outcome.Continuity

@set and @befal
yeh im deffo in.
I'd be more than happy to build the static front end all responsive. As aliastime said we could use flexbox and sack off old browser support (flexbox doesnt support IE 9 or lower). We could use a framework, but I personally like to build from scratch for leanness sake. We could get some Sass up in there too.
Then once done we could pass it on to some back end pro to make it all database driven and dynamic. Do we have 'php ninjas' who would be interested in doing the back end?
Exciting times
- although i have a big freelance job which might start sometime this month, but i could get cracking on this nowHombre_Lobo

About time I say!
I love QBN! And would love to see QBN with a Mobile app and a nice new update.
Nice job set!

I sometimes think Newstoday/QBN worked for this long not because it was a community, but because it had strong private ownership with a demeaning big-brotheresque attitude and a shoot-first talk-never attitude to moderation. People loved when the blue threads appeared, or when baddie accounts disappeared silently. Or when JK got anmesty-happy on one New Year's Eve and started restoring original usernames to people's accounts.
I am not that sure design and rule by committee is the answer.

Too bad QBN is checked out.

The design also reminds me how little I look at the homepage. It's really nice though!

'I am not that sure design and rule by committee is the answer.'
I think any of our client experiences with decision-by-committee proves it's just about the worst idea since French nobility decided those giant shavers couldn't possibly be meant for them.
As for rule-by-committee, well ... see 'Lord of the Flies' by William Golding.

- the white gaps between stories are a little distracting... I understand they're columns, but they aren't necessarymonospaced
- The black "Next" bar is too high contrast compared to the rest. perhaps it's a dark gray?monospaced
- it is dark grey, but yes I played with lightening it, felt weak.set
- I agree it sticks out a bit though, looks a lot better on ipad viewset
- I don't think "weak" is a problem here. I'd like to see it the same gray as the bar under the pink PCmonospaced
- Except for the distinct lack of cow bell, it works.ETM
- it's qbn red not pinkset

'I am not that sure design and rule by committee is the answer.'
exactly why i was talking of forming an official team that will make the website and talk about their process and technical stuff outside QBN.

C'mon! We're supposed to be working together and creating a cool community. We're like a sorority, yes we might have our bitch-fights and one or two STDs, but we're all sisters!

good work son.
