- the rumor is this is a choose your own adventure show - so at points you determine which 'episode' comes nextcolin_s
- the total runtime is apparently 5 hours but i'd imagine if it's true all the variations will play out at different lengthscolin_s

the rumors are true - 'bandersnatch' is a choose your own adventure
i've been through one so far, eager to see how the different choices may play out. what a concept to get repeat viewing.
acid trip scene was fun.
- Does the initial 'Yes/No' reset itself for future viewings then? I didn't answer and it just began the movie, now It won't go back to the 'Yes/No' part.ghandolf
- Yes / no intro is just a tutorial, no worriesspl33nidoru

Wow, that was superb.
Definitely niche though, first half was like a wet dream for UK nerds of a certain age.
Going in again later.

So does anyone know why it jumps to an earlier season of Black Mirror with the decision tree symbol on screen? How are those two episodes tied together?
- Ah, didn't do this for me, the story went on... maybe you had trouble loading the next phase and netflix reset.spl33nidoru

Didn't see this ending myself (and I saw a lot of endings) but what an amazing Easter egg... So much attention to detail and impressive how quickly it was uncovered.

Super frustrating that this isn’t viewable on a google chromecast, amazon fire stick or Apple TV. I really want to watch on the large television but seem limited to my laptop or phones.
- I watched it on an Amazon Fire TV stick. 2nd gen.Sparky
- Ok cool. I read only the newest cube was supported but glad to hear it’s more than that. I might have to get one :)monospaced
- Agreed. This format is ripe to be explored and exploited for the right audience, and it sucks that (purely my assumption) a large number of people with Apple TVmg33
- Roku, etc. couldn’t view it.mg33
- yup, firestick was fine.fadein11
- Roku is supported actually. My laptop is supported but Netflix won’t allow airplay. Lame.monospaced
- Chromecast was fine for me. I casted the tab on my laptopIanbolton
- perhaps they're opening up the restrictions, because they definitely blocked the chromecast and amazon devices at launchmonospaced

HAHAHA... :) i downloaded the Bandersnatch episode off torrent yesterday. Watched it linearly (yes it's a word). Had no idea it's actually an interactive thing. I just watched it as a film with a very fragmented narrative. And actually loved it.

“On the biggest day of Stefan’s life, over 60% of his friends from the future fed him Frosties.” - @BlackMirror
“Compared to the rest of the world, Brits were *less* likely to waste a good cup of tea (obviously). Bandersnatchers in Britain chose “throw tea” only 52.9% of the time. The rest of the world do so 55.9% of the time. - @NetflixUK
“73% chose to ACCEPT the job at Tuckersoft.” - @Netflix
“Out of the 5 main endings, the one where Stefan goes on the train with his mum *fights tears* was the path least traveled.” - @NXonNetflix

I Love the first series.

I can't help but wonder i choose-your-own-adventure Black Mirror isn't just a way to further profile us and data mine us based on choices to fulfill the narrative.
- ...with a show that's designed to point out the perils of that.MrAbominable
- You don't really give away any info Netflix doesn't already have. Assuming you can profile someone based on what movies and shows they watch.i_monk
- assume they already know what movies you like though. next level in metadata profiling would be how you react at each pressure point.MrAbominable
- It's a movie, you can't assume the weight behind any choice.i_monk

(obviously spoilers)
i'm a big andrew scott fan so my first watch was "smithereens," and while most reviews call it the weakest of the bunch, i found it an intriguingly sublime departure from black mirror's tradition of hitting-you-over-the-head writing.
though the story in and of itself is simple and perhaps a bit drawn out, the layers of despair involved are quite staggering - the private vs state power, the mid-tier executive infighting over "exposure," the both hypocritical and deluded founder, to the average person's inability to deal with life-altering despair during life-changing times. capping it all off with a rather nonchalant dismissal of violence and it's a really stellar episode, perhaps because it dares to break the mold the show had cast itself in and dare to show the boredom of what has become everyday horror.
