In the past I've shown work that is more hands on that had a bit more of an engaging story behind it but now I'm focusing on visual design and have thus placed more website work and I feel it isn't as compelling or setting me apart. Any feedback is appreciated.

The work looks great but it's having to compete pretty hard to be seen on that Feed page. You've essentially got 2, 3 or more websites within your website. Maybe losing or changing the big white boxes with the titles would help separate one project from another a little?

i can't scroll down

the clicking to activate then using the arrows to scroll is not very intuitive
- Mine allows me to scroll down any entry I'm hovering over.monospaced
- I can't scroll right without click-dragging and that's not very intuitivemonospaced
- Aha...Totally missed that.duckseason
- hover doesn't work for me, i have to click a columnalbums

I would prefer larger images/screenshots and no side-scrolling. If you are proud of your more "hands on" work, then you should still showcase it.

Thanks everyone. I'm going to do a redesign so the experience is a bit more intuitive.

Titles typeface isn't so nice.

think i'm using a variant of this theme... was fairly intuitive to me. the only thing i see is that it's a bit daunting to see all the websites there (i do have a larger screen), and i believe that theme has something where you can show little thumbs, and auto play some of them. maybe that would help show how unique each project is instead of laying each unique page out as big as every other one... if that makes any sense.

Feed and Index tags are confusing - 'Index' likely doesn't mean much to webignorants, and to non-webignorants, it's mistakable for 'home'.
I was hoping for some kind of swish JS mechanic to deal with the Horizontal scroll. tbh, I don't think it works well the way you've got it, without. I was actually disappointed when I realised I had to scroll manually. ACTUALLY DISAPPOINTED, _salisae_.
Personally, I like the vertical scrollwheel functionality, but it presumes too much and should, imo, be backed up with an idiot-proof JS hint of some sort - either an icon, or a rollover scroll or something.
Seeing so much work side by side means I can't really focus on any one aspect - I kind of like the overall thinking behind the layout, but can't help but feel that (again) some JS highlighting of on-focus sections / or / darkening of non-focus sections would allow me to appreciate your work more.
Why is the About Me section only on one column? Is it so you can maintain the scroll mechanic? Can't help but think that even a hint of the existing column structure there wouldn't go amiss.

horizontal and vertical scrolling through the projects works pretty intuitive with me but I wouldnât have clicked on one project... when I found out I can I was disappointed works were displayed even smaller on the project page... but overall nice work and a pleasent look

I like it. Good work. Title font's not my cup of tea maybe. Doesn't sit with with the grid/modern feel.

font is fixed :)

Horizontal scrolling is thing you see a lot when sites are designed for other designers. If you plan on showing this to other decision makers, I'd remove the horizontal scrolling and include left and right arrows to cycle through your work.
In general, avoid horizontal scrolling and minimize it elsewhere.

i like the 3 scroll thing, pretty cool.. disorientating that it scrolls sideways for me with track pad.. but overall nice..

i feel a lot of my work is hiding with this design :/ thanks so much for all of the input. going to start hacking away at the code and will post updates.

I would like to see at the opening-
A glimpse into you. A feeling. An emotion .... that is you.
(something that separates you from the rest ;)I'm not sure sure whether this theme/ feed works for you?
The rest has been addressed above .
- i agree. i do feel this is missing. it jumps too quickly into the work and makes it feel kind of sterile._salisae_

I think the format could work well with a little tweaking. If you show only one column at a time, and show the work larger so you can see the details better, once you scoll to the bottom of the page, you could use a little javascript to slide over to the next project/column. That way you only use the vertical scrollwheel/scrollbar but you get the 2 dimensional effect. arrow keys and visual buttons for nav between projects/columns would help make that format a bit more usable.
I agree there needs to be a bit more about you when you first land on the website. Currently it just goes right to the work and I have no idea if you're a solo designer, a design firm, or if this is just a tumblr of things you like.
Lastly, having all your websites scaled to fit the column makes for a monotonous portfolio. Crop in on some details and try to show off the parts you're most proud of. It will give you some variety of scale, and might help to tell the story of the project a little better.

lol, hey Shari

That is to say, the work all looks great as always, but I do agree that the site's navigation is a bit clunky.

And I definitely agree that a font management system, or graphic type would do those headers more justice.
