LOUD hidden speaker

Lets say you're looking to hide a loud speaker (and I mean LOUD - think smoke monster sound from Lost) in public, like on your street near your house or something that could be heard from at least 100 yards away. It would be hidden into an existing object of some kind; super invisible to anyone but big enough to be so loud that it would wake people in their sleep.
Where would you get such equipment? How could you guarantee it would not be located, ever? How would someone even attempt to locate the source of the sound? Can you think of any creative ways to hide a big speaker, wire power and audio source to it, and conceal all of it? Right now I'm thinking bird house 15 feet up inside fence, with directional speakers at downward angle. I'd want even a soft whisper to sound like it could be coming from anywhere.
Most important: if the authorities tried to locate it what technology would they use? A seismic wave gizmo? Army stuff? Let's figure this out.

Of all the things in this post, "army stuff" made me LOL. I should not QBN in bed.

portable guitar amp, wireless mic. (buy second hand, remove serial numbers)
hide it up a tree/under a car, not on your property.
wipe fingerprints from items
beware you neighbors may retaliate with a punch to the face.

KLF's Jimmy Cauty purchased two Saracen armoured vehicles at a scrap yard for £4,000 and found equipment in them which he thought could have been used for sonic warfare. He has tried to assemble the acoustic gun from information he found on the Internet. Installing huge amplifiers and special speakers to cope with the very low frequencies cost him "tens of thousands of pounds".
The 25,000-watt sonic gun can project sound for around 7 miles, and Jimmy annoyed his Devon neighbours by testing it on Midsummer's Day, 1996. Jimmy said: "I moved to Devon six months ago for a bit of a rest and this is a project I am taking an interest in. I do not see it as music or art." He said that he aimed the gun away from homes and it seemed to have no effect on sheep.

What kind of sounds are you wanting to play as that would depend on the type of speakers that you'd need.
If it's purely for bass then you'll need a decent sized enclosure to resonate it in.
If it's for music/sounds in general then you'll need a cabinet too.
If it's just high frequency stuff then you can get some tiny piezo tweeters that'll handle VERY loud output at a tiny size.
Rigging up a load of tweeters to an amp then playing the high pitch sounds that only people up to 20 year old (roughly) can hear is a nice deterrent to keep kids from playing in the street. mwhahah.

People are gonna locate the source of the sound as soon as it's emitted if you only have one speaker. You need to put your speaker in the sewers - that way the sound will rumble around the neighbourhood and come up through the drains at multiple locations. That's how I used to do it, anyway.

there's an old story of throbbing gristle focusing two high frequency (inaudible) units on their neighbours house, creating an audible beat frequency in the centre of their living room, then went on tour, and returned to find them gone...

some kind of device that overrides all car stereos / mp3 players within a certain range. Then subject entire neighbourhood, publicly and privately, to the same noise.
