None of those describe the image. I'd say the thermos flasks are vintage, but I don't know why I'd choose that over antique, which is probably what you want to know.

I think they both have the same meaning, really.

I would describe and actual object as antique, but a photo of the object as vintage.

this thread may help.

To me 'antique' dates back beyond the fap-of-the-moment mid-century stuff - the obvious Eames examples date from the 50s (mid-century?!), antique doesn't quite fit all that.
'Retro' has also merged with 'vintage' in my experience, but there are probably slight differences in/outside the US.
With the current love for all things old, I think vintage has become the cool desirable stuff and style, whereas antique is left for the collectors and BBC roadshows.

vintage is an antique that may have a certain trendiness factor to it.

Agreed. "Vintage" suggests desirability (think wine).

Wikipedia had this to say:
It is common practice to define "antique", as applying to objects at least 100 years old.
Vintage,is the process of picking grapes and creating the finished product.

as they are 50-60's i'd say "retro"
but i'm british, what would i know.

I used to work in a vintage shop. The general rule is that it needs to be at least 20 years old, to be considered vintage.

Let me rephrase the the question how would you classify the objects in the image, and what makes them that way?
- oey0
old
because they're old.vintage, antique, retro, classic...
this are all different I think.antique is fucking old, but really fucking old
retro reminds me the 50's, spaceships, styling, jetsonsvintage could be the 60's but that trendy or that wine theory, whatever, fucks it up, specially because there were a lot of kitsch shit around that era until the 70's
some things that could be described as above type of objects can be a classic, but not everything vintage, retro or antique is a classic.
whatever, I should be sleeping by now...

vintage i would say is something high quality and have an enduring appeal.
antique is something out of date.
in my opinion those thermos are vintage

I guess something roman can't be vintage...
I have this friend, he and his wife is all 60's, like northern soul, mod, the kitchen is all orange filled with objets from the 60's, lots of carpets and rugs, wallpaper...
Me and other friends make fun of him by saying that if it isn't vintage he doesn't like it.
Like when a beautiful girl passes by and he says she's not beautiful, we tell him he means she's not vintage like the old lady passing in the other side of the street, and that's what he really likes...
OLd ladies with nylons...that's fucking vintage!
Like that French porn collection called "Polisson et Galipettes".
That's some good vintage porn.
