Perhaps most of you don't have kids yet but I'm sure someday you'll understand that no matter WHO the fuck the person is, what he did (did not do) is wrong. As a father of two boys I could never forgive someone that was involved in something so sinister and macabre.

I guess the only thing you can say in Joe's favor right now is at least before his death he admitted he should have done more.
We know for a fact he knew about it, that he went to the higher ups, and obviously he knew nothing was ultimately done about it. Everyone with half a brain knows that if you know something like this was going on, it should be handled by the police, and he went years knowing that it wasnt.
It sure seems likely that he just kept his mouth shut knowing what it would do to the university he loved so much, but the truth is kids are way more important than the status of any school or sports program.

Because of how profile he is he'll be in protective custody in prison. He wont be sharing a cell with anyone thats for sure and will be kept from other inmates.
I find it funny that they said he'll be on 72 hours of suicide watch. Really? That's all he'll need to determine if he wont kill himself when he knows his life is already over?

You know if this guy was doing this during the age of craigslist he could have just found people willing to do this with him. Or he could have found other ways to find gay people at the time by going to gay clubs, but I guess trying to keep the veil over his normal life prevented that. It makes me wonder if he actually got off on of guys that werent willing to do it.

The way he answered the questions makes me think (A) he's clearly exhausted, and (B) he hates himself. He was built this way. He's just all fucked up and mentally sick. Crazy.
There's no justice being done here, though. Just a sick fuck put away for a long time FAR too many years after the damage was done. Those kids won't get their childhoods back. Failure after failure, but at least this puts an end to it.
