yeah, i'm a smoker (cigarettes), so i get what you're saying miko... i don't smoke cigars often, but when i do i like the smaller stogies with a good drink (something with a nice bead, like a good cognac or whiskey). the idea is to draw the smoke into your mouth, taste, and exhale...

I like the flavored ones - Tatiana vanillas if you are feeling cheap, CAO moontrance are good - But my favorites so far (I'm also a beginner) Are Tabak especials - these used to be Khalua brand but they lost the rights and remade them under the new name. they run about $7 and up depending on size.

- looks tasty.panacea
- If you like the Kuba Kuba Acids then you'll like this one. The draw on it was so light.flyingnowhere
- a lot of the marketing seems so "biker" style, not digging it, but the cigars are good. I don't get where cigars went wrongpanacea

I've only done the dinner / dessert social party type cigar smoking.
We would smoke cigars to enjoy before the meats & cheeses and other assorted appetizers with desserts like chocolate and cheesecakes later.
This is the kind of thing we'd smoke before eating:
Hoyo de Monterrey Petit Robustoand/or (we pass our cigars around)
Ramon Allones Small Club Coronas& after dessert:
Graycliff Château Grand Cru (it's European)Granted there was never a sit down time, just mingling & drinking till the food was gone.
btw, I picked these up and this info from a place on Abbot Kinney in Venice, ca. sorry I don't remember the name.

If your in Houston or online check out http://www.seriouscigars.com they have 4 locations in the Houston area and the biggest Humidor in the city at their 1960 location.
If your not in Houston the site is extensive and inventory is in real time so if they show it as available they have it! I have dealt with them for quite sometime now!
My other chouse would be Cigarsinternational.com they do not have a local store but they have a great site!

I went through a phase.
I've tried Trinidad, Punch, Hoyo de Monterrey, Montecristo, Cohiba, Upmann and Romeo y Julieta.
I prefer a light to medium bodied cigar like a Punch Punch or a Romeo y Julieta Churchill. Find a good supplier and ask them.
Can be a nice one off treat for special occasions.
- P.S. Don't go all out on a Bolivar Corona Gigantes to start with. It'll knock you for six.monoboy
