I know it's off topic for Making Beats, but I've posted here before and you guys inspire me to pursue the weird sounds in my brain.
Here's a demo of a song I've been sitting on for about a year now. It's called Working Vacation. I figured it's better out there in the world that sitting on my phone.
I want to literally make some beats for this song, but programming in drums is not my specialty. Maybe one day, or maybe it'll never get done...

- just ordered, been out of stock for at least a year... could have snagged a used one sooner I guess but stoked nonethelessprophetone
- the reviews are all super positive, all the demos I've seen are on point, 909 owners praise it as worthy substitute with great additional featuresprophetone
- and saved about $4000?prophetone
- +1 for the live overdub triggering, looks great for quick beat build ups as fast as you can tap it out https://www.youtube.…prophetone
- looks like it has up to 3 midi trigger outs(?) for external boxes... looking forward to casually live jamming, triggering the Akai S612 for gritty house stuffprophetone
- I bought the RD-8 mkII on a whim not expecting much. I was so surprised by how good it is. build quality, sounds, functions, all of it.futurefood

- i'd love one of these for a few days just to stick it on the floor in the garage and pretend i'm jeff millskingsteven
- i had the RD-8 mk 1 and RD-6 and they were amazing but didn't get much use... bit big for my setupkingsteven
- eyeing up the Roland TR-6s atm to compliment the 707 very cheap on the second hand marketkingsteven
- Yea these full size units are a lot of fun. But in a modern setup, having smaller kit has been easier to managefuturefood
- indeed it’s too big BUT I kinda want that 909 hugeness for this as lots of button smashing, but yeah will need to make room for beastprophetone

4 years late to the MC-707 party. Had a go on a friend's a few weeks back and got a bit obsessed, picked one up last week. They were a bit thin on features when they came out but Roland have been really going for it with the firmware updates it seems. Just about the most intuitive interface you could imagine on something this feature deep. The most fun I've had making music in a long while.
