stop buying disposable crap.
i never understood the "let's use something once then THROW IT AWAY" mentality. fucking marketing making us think that's okay...

1. keep monthly expenses low to allow for saving. (cheap phone, no/low cable, cheap apartment, etc.)
2. use those savings to buy the big-ticket items that you need rather than financing them (car, schooling, maybe a condo).Do it that way and you've got even more money since you're not paying anyone interest. (ie 50% extra for that car over it's term, 60% extra for school until you pay that loan off, 100% extra for that condo you already overpaid for)
building a solid rainy-day fund is the key to happy life.

Got a crapped out fridge with bad seals? Find an interest free deal over 3 years and the savings will almost pay for the fridge.... Use the old one as shelving in the shed or as a cooler box when you have parties.
Also, if you have a large chest freezer put in a few large bottles of water to freeze at night... the freezer won't work as hard during the day, and the freezer will stay cool longer in case of a power outage.

These are my pitfalls, so i recommend avoiding these:
Eating out, period.
Going out for drinks.

★ make soup, that's all you need to eat is soup
★ salvation army is usually cheaper than goodwill
★ the public library is your best resource for books, music, movies and internet. Not to mention, restrooms and drinking water.
★ don't get hung up on bourgeois bullshit like driving a car or living indoorslet me know if you need more tips, I have them
