1. keep monthly expenses low to allow for saving. (cheap phone, no/low cable, cheap apartment, etc.)
2. use those savings to buy the big-ticket items that you need rather than financing them (car, schooling, maybe a condo).Do it that way and you've got even more money since you're not paying anyone interest. (ie 50% extra for that car over it's term, 60% extra for school until you pay that loan off, 100% extra for that condo you already overpaid for)
building a solid rainy-day fund is the key to happy life.
