my computer is running slow when i have PS, AI, FW, FLash, open... i am running an i7 920 2.6 ghZ
6 gb ram.. win 7its running slugish and slow when i have a couple of programs open.
if i change the motherboard, will that change things?
is there anything i can do to speed it up?
this is my task manage screen shot.

a couple? what the fuck are all the programs you have open on the list? open command prompt and stop half the shit you have open upon startup.
besides that obvious fact, when you have 4 adobe progs open at the same time (depending on file size) it's going to be a bit sluggish.

mom.exe - that's can't be speedy. lol.

what do i type in command prompt to stop a program?
- registe0
mom.exe is a Catalyst Control Center or a Monitoring program from ATI Technologies Inc. belonging to Catalyst Control Centre. Although this is an ATI Technologies Inc. application there is a possibility that this could be a type of spyware if found in the following folder: \program files\mom\mom.exe. Thus it is recommended for removal if possible.

I don't think it's the motherboard. Is this a home built machine or from a PC manufacturer like Dell or HP etc?
Personally, I'd be looking at more ram and maybe the speed of your hard disk(s). Normally 6gb would be fine, but not when you want to keep so many Adobe apps open as well as multiple browser instances etc. Look at the fact that your FireFox uses 1GB of memory alone.
Personally, I run 12 GB. I also have multiple hard drives and make sure my Adobe scratch disks are on a separate drive than my OS.
If the issue arises when Creative Suite is open, it could also be something like bad font(s), sketchy 3rd party plugins etc.
- HOme Built,,, do i need to configure mome settings??brodster

Is it slow from the moment you start up, or just once you've opened every program installed on your computer?

use this to get a list of everything running http://download.cnet.com/Trend-M…
then use this to look up each one and figure out what you need and what you don't http://www.tasklist.org/
93 is a shit load of stuff running at once.
My home windows machine runs like 40 or so.

You come in here, flaunting a rather vulgar proclivity for shite Microsoft software, and you expect what? Sympathy? Advice? Guidance?
You'll get neither, now piss off.
