My sister is saying Meatpacking District and SoHo are the best areas to stay in. Is this correct?

http://www.thompsonhotels.com/ho…I've stayed at 6 Columbus, Soho house and the Bowery, all lux and great locations (well, 6 Columbus isn't a great location, the rooms are pretty small and not as lux as the others but the free penthouse suite made up for it as being as they screwed my booking up. Saying that, I'd stay again, the staff are great and it's next to Central Park).

+1 bowery. bowery is like a home away from home, walking distance to everywhere, great food all around it. Very chill lounge and good drinks. It's a british/old word vibe fyi. Hot girl in the lounge even gave me her number when I stayed. Good times.
- O gosh :)redant
- I will look into it sounds nice
redant - the area of the bowery is still what it is even though the vibe is safer. luxury area it is not..e-pill
- soho and meat packing area are very different compared to bowery..if she wants luxury..e-pill
- then stick to soho/ tribeca. nolita/ meat packing..e-pill

Will we need bikes?
- no, just a metrocard.e-pill
- ive lived in nyc all my life and i sure as hell do not want to ride a bike around in manhattan..e-pill
- Ok so a metrocardredant
- even with the new bike lanes everywhere.. too dangerous..e-pill
- Are cabs expensive?redant
- it can get expensive if you use them thru the whole 3 days, but generally i dont think so.e-pill
- if you are carrying bags of shopped items take a cab.. or after dark.. when ever..e-pill
- generally the subways are the fastest way to get anywhere in the city..e-pill
- Bike is, for sure, the fastest way to get around Manhattan.scrameone
- too hot to bike right now, unless you're into that kind of thingmonospaced
- cab 80% subway 20%. you don't want to ride subway at rush hour or lateduhsign

So we can just pay cash on the metro.
- cash at the kiosk to obtain your card. if you're here 3 days you can get 3-day unlimited metro card.. or, you used to be able tobulletfactory
- get an unlimited card, you can pay with credit card or atm card or cash.e-pill
- remember you each will need a metrocard as the unlimited rides are once per every 18 minutes.e-pill

Best hotel pool in meatpacking:
- dirtydesign0
never tell a cab driver where you are going until you get inside the cab. some of em are pricks and won't take you places because they simply don't feel like driving there.
