The battery in my 2007 MB Pro (pre-unibody) died. There is a gazillion of replacement offers out there but can anyone recommend a vendor/maker?

A new battery for that MacBook Pro is too expensive. I had kind of the same issue and asked around for prices and I think it was $200-250.
I ended up buying a new MacBook Pro instead.
- APPLE WINS! lolHombre_Lobo
- It is €140 here. The mac is my missus', it's spotless—battery actually died cause it was barely getting load cycles.raf

My second battery (MBP also from 2007) is heading out the door shortly – I get maybe 30 minutes on it unplugged, just surfing the net – so this thread is relevant to my interests.

Flashbender—"no complaints", as in "as good as the original was"?

I need a new battery for a late '07 MBP. Apple in Australia want $149 so they can suck a fat one. Found one on eBay here for $49...will this battery be OK?

I used to have a FastMac high capacity battery for my '07 MacBook Pro. Compared to the Apple battery, it rocked– double the battery life, less cash. I haven't used the NuTech ones, but I would guess that they're very similar (if not the same thing underneath the logos).
The one downside is that they are plastic, cheaper construction and so not as physically durable. In some cases they might not fit perfectly (feel a little mushy, not 100% flush to your laptop, whatever) but after a day or two you'll forget about it completely. The problem is just if you put it in storage without regulating temperature, humidity, etc... this happens to Apple battery packs too, and I've seen some mangled battery packs but you might as well know: it's obviously a replacement part, but if you want to keep the thing alive it can do a great job. Just be sure to get your money's worth (use it).

Getting one right now for the late '07 MBP I use. $129 in any US Apple Store.
- my last (and 4th) apple replacement battery for same model lasted 3 months. Now I use it as a desktop.spot13

My battery situation is like i_monk's. Unibody macbook pro lasts about 45 minutes if unplugged.
