As much as I hated seeing my beloved Canucks lose :o( it's been kinda entertaining hanging out on the streets and being in the middle of all this chaos coz I missed the riot from 1994.

I'd love to help you clean up, but I have this camera, see. Yeah, I'm more of a camera guy than a sweeping up guy. Looks real arty though - I'll email you my flickr. Laters.

It's 15 years of hooliganism crammed into one night.
I'm not sure on the numbers, but I'd say the Stanley Cup probably gets bigger numbers of people in the streets than any other professional sporting event on Earth. There was 100,000 people in a small downtown core last night. Without a win, a riot is inevitable with those numbers.
- win or lose I think this shit would have gone down in Vanchris_himself

Vancouver has nothing to do with this, you have a textbook case of Stockholm syndrome. We are being raped and pillaged from barbarians from across the bridges and tunnels, don't blame the victim.

hmmm... I can honestly say you wouldn't ever see this kind of reaction from a Boston fan base...
yeah - they can be dicks and might single out a single Canadians fan in the bathroom and harass the shit out of him... WHO WOULDN'T?? But when the Patriots had a 16-0 season and then LOST THE SUPER BOWL... the children sat snuggled in their homes, Fathers and sons got along and realized it was merely but a game and that they'd be back... yes... they'd be back...
... no friends, you don't see this kind of shit from a Boston team... teams that 'know how to lose'... as Boston fans well-understand having a history of loss after loss after loss for so many years...
Poor Sports you are, Vancouver (or the invading losers—I would much rather blame you actually)... whoever you are... ... you're poor sports and you're making me want to gloat... but I know that's not nice... ... cuz I'm a BOSTON fan.

- hehehe (not different at all)... I'm... I'm ... shit...
... I'm gloating... :)PonyBoy - and I am talking about losing :)... Boston's lost so much that it's natural to just... go about life when it happensPonyBoy
- um...you've forgotten about the mayhem that erupted after a sox game, it seems.monkeyshine
- You're right, monkey... I was talking out my ass a bit drunk when I typed this up - I'm just so used to Boston losing...PonyBoy
- ... and when they lose... the fans didn't use to 'lose this bad'... ... but of course I'm thinking back 20+ years...PonyBoy
- ... and not recent championship events in which Boston fans didn't lose well... so yeah - I'm wrong... happens everywhere. :)PonyBoy

Not that well-written, but it does get a point across.

This is a shame...
I will say that I got chills during the singing of the Canadian National Anthem last night though. The singer let the crowd sing the second verse of the song because all the fans were singing so loud. It was nice to see and hear.- btw, they always do that at home games... mind you, we even sang in the bar last night...adumbratesly
- i just sang that on the street in downtown. 9 ampango
- with the crowd of course. i'm not that crazy.pango
