If you were offered a UX/UI Designer position by Apple, Google and Microsoft all at the same time, which company would you go with in which order and why? What product would you like to work on? Just curious.

1. Google. I would like to work on the home page doodles.
2. Apple.

Microsoft - low bar. They would be more receptive to innovative thinking, and frankly need you more.
Apple - because they respect design, although less so than 5 years ago, and they only have down as a future
Google - because they employ every UX on the planet, and really lets face it, they are a tech house not a product house.
GO WHERE YTHERE ARE LOW EXPECTATIONS AND A CHANCE OF SUCCESS.

i'm not a designer, but here's my take:
if you're good: microsoft. they are in desperate need of good ui designers, and you can be known as the one who helped them innovate in that area
if you're decent, but learning: apple. learn from the 'best'.
if you suck: google. skills don't matter here. function over form to infinity. you're just helping them meet their department quota. good job.

You look at how a company treats it's employees.
Apple is a slave farm. You are abused, raped and cut off for the smallest mistakes. It's the most frustrating experience ever. 3 people told me the same thing.
Microsoft is just unimaginative. Unless you work at Microsoft Research and Labs. It's really a mess to work at. Again, told by a few people working at MS.
Google. The most amazing workplace you can imagine. They have sleep pods for afternoon naps, they have an hour a day or one whole day a week or something like that I think, for themselves to do on ANYTHING they want and they have meetings where the best ideas are voted on and then invested in by Google or just supported and pushed further and that person is assigned as the project's owner.
Overall I hear nothing but the best. They had some weird interview processes before but I think they changed that..
Judging by the information I've gotten if I wanted to work for someone and not build my own companies and startups, I would only work for Google.

Interesting that you don't include Amazon in this list...they're as big a competitor as the rest. I've worked for both Amazon and Microsoft...benefits are working in places that are starting to understand the value of design - maybe easier to make an immediate impact on products.
Apple seems like a place to go as a young designer; you can learn but I can't imagine it would be a place that would allow new, innovative thinking from an individual designer...maybe I'm wrong.

AppleOnce I get fired from google and microsoft for indecent exposure (assisted by calles), I'd force apple at gun point to make less horrifically distasteful arrogant ads and keynotes in an attempt to buy them some class back.
Despite the fact those ads clearly bring in sales like no ones business.

Google - for all the reasons Boz said. Though I've heard that they are beginning to cut, or phase out some of those practices because of now expensive they are. Still, a company that embraces the spirit of innovation.
Microsoft - in this imaginary world where I'm a UX designer that's being highly sought after, it'd demand to be in the xbox department. That's one thing I feel Microsoft has gotten right on eveyr level, and I would have an excuse to play Skyrim for hours on end and get paid. :)
Apple last, and it was close, because as what I'm sure Boz would describe as a fan boy, I would love access to all those toys I love so much. But I just can't imagine it's much fun their. They have these standards that just seem so confining, and if I'm not dreaming up those standards and making everyone else follow them, then don't want to deal with them. That doesn't make a ton of sense, but neither does the idea of me actually being sought after by any of these companies for something I don't do much, or an of.

I once heard someone compare Apple and MS by who was invited to meetings. At Apple, designers were treated like gods in meetings. At MS, they didn't even get an invite.
