On the hunt for some decent examples of brand/product pages on facebook who've created their own splash pages or done intertesting campaigns.
Decent example is Red Bull who've put a graphic of 'faded' content on their facebook splash page with arrows across it pointing towards the "like" button. This suggests to the user that if they 'like' Red Bull then they get access to loads of content.

Putting an overlay with a "please like us" suggesting there's content beneath seems to be the thing to do.
Some of these pages don't show up if you are viewing Facebook via a HTTPS connection which a lot of people will be doing after facebook changed the default then the word of this spread virally from wall to wall giving instructions of how to switch it back.
To view the page you have to click "view as normal..." (or whatever) on the page, so the page doesn't have the initial impact - there's a click in the way.

As for HTTPS, we had our tech guy slap a SSL cert on our server where we store iFrame files, so now we're good for HTTP and HTTPS folks.
