Dear tourists, this just in: bar25 is no more. I repeat, bar25 has passed away. But you can still go to Admiralsbrücke and annoy the local residents.

thanks for the info. any design shops or specialized design-art books stores?
I´m interested in those places that you can´t find easily on travel guides. cheers!

Make sure you go clubbing in the underground techno scene.
IMO the whole East Berlin part is the best (of obvious reasons; fighting themselves free from authorities).
Stuff like this is great if you're into sub culture and art:

besides Pro Qm which was already mentioned, there is also Motto on Skalitzer Straße. Whereas ProQm has a more academic approach (a lot about architecture), in Motto you‘ll find more small print run artists books and magazines... make sure to check out the neighborhood too, Motto is close to Schlesisches Tor, lots of bars there, Görlitzer Park and Oranienstraße (with even more bars) in walking distance...
and please don‘t piss in my house entrance shitfaced at six in the morning, okay...

There's a bar in Friedrichshain, think it's called the Astro Bar or something, it's not bad, but they do a Budvar Dunkel on tap and it's the bees. I've been hunting for that beer ever since I got back to no avail. Nice bars round that area, we found a cool wee Parisian bar decked out in a 1940's stylee, Édith Piaf playing on a Gramophone, met some interesting characters in there. Across the road is a great Soviet bar with old Russian propaganda cartoons playing on a big screen, and another bar which has table football, name escapes me, but ask about for the table football bar, it's well known and really lively. Berlin is a great city fella, have fun!
- Apologies for the lack of design related info, can you tell I like a drink yet?Juanmonk

Not a design trip, but I went on a bicycle tour of Berlin the first day I got there and it was great. We saw a really good range of things including a beer garden, and got some cool bg info along each stop.
I'm almost positive this was the place...

Thanks guys for all the super info and tips. I´ll stay for about ten days at a rented apartment. My budget is limited but I´m pretty open to explore and see it all. It´s my second time in Berlin. My first time was in 1992 so.....
- well, nothing has changed since 1992..
